The REAL deal. Such good bbq, and a homemade bun to boot! Fantastic prices, great outdoor seating area. Don’t miss the baked goods, snickerdoodles and cinnamon rolls oh my goodness. Everything melts in your mouth.

Small hole in the wall restaurants are the best and this one didn’t disappoint!! Burgers were huge and the tri tip was so good! Homemade buns were great! Coleslaw was seasoned perfectly. Grilled chicken sandwich was juicy and filling. Out door seating some is covered with a tent and cooler which was nice. It got busy right at lunch time!

Stopped here for lunch on Memorial Day, 2021. What a wonderful find! I had the Nolan Jr. sandwich – a hamburger patty with cheese, 1/3# tri-tip, bacon, and BBQ sauce. Amazing. Quite possibly the most tender & delicious tri-tip I’ve ever had – and my wife was the GM of a restaurant whose specialty was tri-tip at one time.

This is a must-stop in Burns if you are visiting Burns or if you are passing through on a road trip. We are on a week-long road/cycling trip around Eastern Oregon. We wanted lunch, homemade cookies, and bread, and Juniper Cookhouse fulfilled our wildest desires. The service was excellent: fast and friendly. The barbecue sandwiches were tasty and served on homemade buns. Everything was reasonably priced and just the right size. The drive-through line was long, due to popularity, but they kept it moving. We, however, opted to dine at the tidy, outdoor picnic tables. Altogether, positive experience, and -yes, the cookies are delicious!
