My family and I enjoy the catfish, Mac n Cheese, string beans, and potato salad. It is seasoned well, and the fish is always fresh when we have it. The new location is MUCH more welcoming and organized than the last one. The servers are friendly, the owner is comical, and the private room available for small gatherings has become one of our go-to spaces. The MUST-HAVE dessert is their pineapple coconut cake! I enjoy my experience each time I go to the Halsey St. location.

Catfish, shrimp, and yams was good but the mac and cheese was dull and needed Jesus to come and bless it. Barely any cheese, no salt whatsoever and no pepper. ..Lacked any type of life. Totally disappointed cause the quality of the food didn’t match what they charge for it. Please do better…

Oxtails were good. Potato salad and rice and beans were too salty. Mac and cheese was horrible! Burnt dry and some noodles were inedible. The waitress tried to help but the food was below average. Costs did not match the quality of the food.

Just discovered this place on Halsey Street close to where I live downtown. OMG… SOOOOOO GOOD!!! I got the Super Seafood Platter with potato salad plus Mac and cheese and cole slaw. ALL just like I like it. And for dessert… coconut cake. A lot of food and I have leftovers. I’ll be back!

The food has always been pretty decent. Never any complaints from me. But, their new location is everything! Love the building space that they’re on. Very cozy! I hope that it stays this way with little improvements added. Looking forward to seeing their night weekend crowd and the atmosphere.

I’m all for supporting my black owned businesses. This was horrible I feel like I waisted money on food that was not good at all. Lobster tails was over cooked, Mac and cheese was missing something. The chicken was salty could really enjoy it. I won’t spend my money there again. I apologize I’m just saying I’m not gonna lie about what I waisted money on.

It’s sad to say that you want to support black owned and it is this bad. This experience was horrific if you open at 10 be ready to serve we arrived at 10:35 My husband knows the owner and is upset with this experience as well.We sat down waited 14 min to order a drink which never came. Everyone standing behind counter stating we not ready yet.The waitress gave us cornbread after 20 mMy husband who is calm said enough we walk to the front his orange juice looking watered down sitting on the counter. We asked if we could get to go In sequence they say it’s not ready . Needless to say we drove to support 30 minutes for nothing. Please when you are blessed with a business don’t forget It is given and can be taken away. Don’t take people for granted with service Things happen at least apologize for the wait and inconvenience of others time. We left 11:23 time wasted. I cook and this was suppose to be my birthday brunch please do better.

The workers are disrespectful. I placed an order on DD and just wanted to confirm that I will be getting the extra sauce I requested because the last time I didn’t. I had a young lady complaining that the music was too loud and I’ve gotten hung up on twice because of that. The customer service is horrible… the good is good but go pick up your food. You can’t trust ordering online.
