We ate lunch here today with our daughter and had a fantastic experience. As soon as we walked in the door we were greeted in a very friendly manner from both the staff and other patrons. Our daughter loves crab legs and we took her here as a treat before she leaves for school. We didn’t realize they only had them on the dinner menu, so we asked we could still get them. They made both her and my husband some very tasty crab legs. My lobster roll was also outstanding. Overall excellent place to eat. Great service, friendly atmosphere, wonderful food and fair prices. We will definitely be back.

Cool decor I felt like I was back in Florida or some other coastal location. Been so busy lately, but I finally got a chance to go try it out yesterday. Staff was very friendly. Greeted me at the door and the bartender was friendly as well. She was very good at making some suggestions and recommendations for me. I ended up getting the lobster mac & cheese. It was very good and the portion was so generous I couldn’t finish it. I chose the rice and broccoli for sides, and I will say this broccoli was phenomenal very nicely cooked, tender, and flavorful. Rice was excellent too!

What a perfect new restaurant for our town of Tryon! When I saw they had opened this week, I knew we had to stop in ASAP especially given it is owned & operated by Katie from Katie Ds Bagels also in town & a much loved sandwich shop by us. It did NOT disappoint! From walking in and being warmly welcomed by the chefs mother to our stellar waitress whom was warm, friendly, and attentive, to the FANTASTIC food, our experience exceeded expectations.

Food was tasty and staff friendly. My first time here so I sampled dishes off the appetizer menu: Conch Chowder, Clams Casino, Loaded Skins, Oysters Rockefeller, and Lobster Mac and Cheese. Atmosphere reminds me of a seafood shack on the coast. Sunday, shortly after opening, was not busy, but food took a while to get out of the kitchen. What a great little restaurant with great seafood near home. The family (6 of us) visited here today and was very pleased with the service and the food. I got the Boil along with two other family members and we were very happy with our choices. My wife got the lobster roll and said it was the best she has ever had and it was loaded with lobster. Can’t wait to go back and try the King Crab legs.

This was our fist time at K.D.’s Sea Shack. Food was great as was the service. Crab cake appetizer was delicious. I had Wahoo blackened with asparagus and my wife had the Lobster Mac & Cheese and we finished with Key Lime Pie. We will be back

We absolutely enjoyed our dinner last night. Started with Lobster MacNCheese, Green Ring Mussels and Mussels as appetizer. Very good!!! Than we had a side salad which was very fresh and a good variety of vegetables in it. As Entrees we had the Lobster Roll, Catch of the Day “Nook”, Fish and Chips and Crab cakes. We all wanted to lick our plates clean. It wasn’t just good, it was delicious. Definitely will be back and recommending this place to everyone.

We stumbled upon this gem while exploring Tryon. The service was phenomenal, cute atmosphere, and the food was spot on. We are already planning another trip up for dinner soon. Best peel and eat shrimp I’ve ever had in my life. Which sounds like such a weird thing to have a “best” experience with, doesn’t it? Shrimp were great quality, piping hot, and came with house made cocktail sauce that made my husband and I finally understand all the hype about cocktail sauce. It had a hell of a bite to it and was freaking delicious. Shrimp salad and fish and chips were also great, but I’m going to be dreaming of the shrimp and cocktail sauce until the next time we can get up there.

Stopped in here twice, once when they first opened and they had some things to work out. And once recently. The first time the food, drinks and atmosphere were good. The service was very, very slow. It took a long time to get drinks and food. They were busy that time. The second time was on a Wednesday and they were not too busy. It still took a long time to get drinks after they were ordered. And it was a bit of a wait to get the food. Not as long as the first time. The server was very nice, and checked on us and gave updates about our order. Overall the food is good, I think, the cocktails are good but on the sweet side. The restaurant has nice ocean themed decor. The only thing is it takes forever to get drinks and food. Fix this and it will be a 5 star all day in my book.

Every time I go to K.D.’s there is always a warm welcome. Not only did my waitress check in on me, many people came by to check and see how everything was or if I needed anything! The staff is full of recommendations from the food to the beers. I haven’t had a single dish I’ve disliked. The lobster mac and cheese is my favorite and has a good amount of lobster, not like some other places where you get little flecks of “lobster” in your mac and cheese! All in all one of my favorite places to eat in Tryon. Definitely worth the price for some quality seafood!
