K.Rico Steakhouse Menu – New York, NY

Type : Steak house

Location : New York, NY

K. Rico was created by Tommy Greco and Christian Tanno, who met each other on their first day of kindergarten back in the ’80s. Later on, during extensive travels throughout Latin America, they became enamored with the diverse cuisines, cultures and flavors from many lands, and wanted to offer an authentic experience based on these culinary and cultural adventures. At K. Rico, the butchering and Dry-Aging is done in house, and the cuts are displayed at the table before ordering, for a very unique and memorable New York City dining experience.

The food is amazing! We ordered the mixed platter with the cauliflower mash and it was delicious! The guacamole trio was a fun appetizer as well. For dessert, we got the coconut flan and chocolate lava cake – would recommend ordering the latter, as it was the best. They had a great selection of wine, too. The owner goes around every night telling you exactly what cuts are available on the menu. He is truly a people person and very detail oriented. My dad and I had a wonderful time and would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone.

Visited K.Rico for the first time to celebrate a birthday. I have to say, probably one of the best steaks I ever had in NYC. The menu is super transparent along with the service and specials. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, the servers here were incredibly knowledgeable and attentive. The photos showcased the oysters (get two orders, they’re heavenly), trio guacamole (chipotle guac was my favorite!!), the K. Rico salad, and the arepas. The steak featured were specials that are the first must-try items that can be discussed when you sit down. Across 6 people we ordered, two (2) 45-50oz on-the-bone tomahawks were split between 4 people along with a 20oz ribeye and the K.Rico on-the-bone 22oz sirloin. Sides ordered were the French fries, cauliflower malanga (another must try!), maduros (sweet plantains are my absolute favorite), crème of spinach and brussel sprouts with bacon were the perfect pairing to our plentiful steak. Next round, desserts – we learned they are made in-house and fresh everyday. We tried the flan, the panna cotta, the tres leche cake (even got a sparkler for our birthday guest), and the crème brûlée. It was a perfect evening especially after we met Tommy! Such a down to earth restauranteur that shared his story with us during our round of limoncello drinks which were on the house. I got to say, after learning more about K. Rico’s beginnings, experiencing the great service and being able to completely satisfy our party or 6, it makes it more of a reason to make it a staple when visiting NYC. Tommy, keep up the great work. Be back soon.

What an incredible meal! We shared the baked oysters and the empanadas (both must haves! Every bite of each dish was better than the next! A true five star experience. The atmosphere, wine, dinner and desert was beyond delicious. You MUST get the tres leches as well! (don’t sleep on the mashed cauliflower! It was one of my favorite things)

Came back after after . . . You know that global thing . . . Consistently wonderful. Fantastic skirt steak, monumental, baked, potato, and great drinks. The staff here feels like family, attentive and hospitable. We love it and hope you do too. A little limoncello and tres leche almost put us over the “roll me outta here” edge but we suffered through. PS sorry for the pic 1/2 eaten and it remembered to take it.

The food was very good and we enjoyed our meat. My steak was very greasy and the server noted that and all of our desserts were on the house. A restaurant that can admit that it is wrong is a good one. The service was great and quite quick. Our server was brilliant I would definitely return here if I am ever back in New York.

A lovely little place in Hell’s Kitchen. It is unassuming in the front, but the inside is very nice, and the back garden is a beautiful little spot in the busy-ness of the city. The owner came and spoke to us, and walked us through the meat options. The recommendations that were given were great. The food and wine was delicious. My husband loved his Rib-eye.

The vibe was okay. Seating hostess is such a lovely person! So friendly and inviting. First thing I noticed was there was no one there. Steak house empty on Father’s Day Sunday? Just 2 parties seated in the back. For the beverage I ordered a Kentucky mule (switch out vodka for whiskey). Waiter never heard of it, so he asked the bar for it. Came back and tells me they can’t make it. Huh?? Food was not that great. For the appetizers I ordered ceviche, it was so so. I’ve had better at rinky-dink restaurants in Queens. Fufu de chorizo – The menu does NOT indicate that it is made with ripe plantains.. which I am allergic to! It says mashed plantains. Any Latino would assume green. So that was not a good experience. Guac trio was good. We got 2 parrilladas mixtas. One of them had extra skirt steak and two little pieces of tenderloin tips. No linguica, or no chorizo (Couldn’t tell. Only that it was one type of sausage), no pork belly (it was bacon!), and NO pork tenderloin. It was huge portions of grilled chicken, bacon, sausage, and the two types of beef. The meat was also over cooked. I asked for medium and it was well done. A lot of chewing happening for that skirt. It all also looked dry. The chimichurri sauce was not made with cilantro, but with parsley. I dare the people serving this to eat a forkful of raw parsley. Not an easy chew and very bitter! The seasoning on the chicken was nice, and the surprise order of malanga mash that we didn’t ask for was okay. It had a lot of butter for sure. Just an okay experience. What was nice at the end… The waiter, Benjamin, asked what we were celebrating. Although we previously said we were full, my daughter said it was her birthday and it was also Father’s Day. We got a créeme brûlée and a tres leches cake thrown in at no extra charge. I thought it was just a nice special thing he did, but it was done for the table next to us as well. My husband was not impressed. Sad to say, overrated and overpriced.

Great service! The host was nice enough to offer us a booth and the bartender gave us great recommendations while our table was prepared. The empanadas were amazing. We got the weekly special and the spinach and cheese empenadas. The made in house Chimichurri sauce was FANTASTIC with our perfectly cooked steaks.
