Fun rooftop with great music. Ceviche roll was amazing along with the ceviche trio and bao buns were our favorite. The Karaage fell flat, tasted like stale fried chicken bites. Cocktails were beautiful but somehow lacking a flavorful punch. The views and the vibe were amazing though!

Visited this Kaiyo location recently, with a group of friends to celebrate an occasion. We had a reservation, but unfortunately, we were seated near the restroom, which smelled a bit funky. We had to ask to move and were given an outdoor table instead. My husband and I tried a few different rolls – the Lima Roll, Ika Sumi Roll, and Rainbow Roll, which were all pretty tasty. I also ordered the Space Adventure Cobra cocktail, really loved a great combination of sweet and fresh flavors. The rolls were pretty generous in size, so we definitely got our fill. The only downside was that when we got the check, we realized that a 20% tip was already included, which was a bit of a bummer.

The staff are incredibly courteous and attentive. Food was extremely delicious! Every bite was filled with flavour. Music was also really good. I would definitely come back to to this place

It was a great time, it was fun the food was amazing and next level. This was a real treat to try something different. I’m a sushi guy and I have never seen a sushi with steak in it, who does that, very delicious very amazing we all where very impressed with the level of food and service that we got. There were several types of sakes, I was in heaven. If you’re in San Francisco, this is a treat you won’t regret.

Seated in the back near the restroom which smelled like a bad men’s bathroom tarnished what was otherwise a great meal with my parents. Everyone loved the dishes, but the standout was the baos, cebiche sampler, and lomo. Low light was probably the spicy tuna which was dusted with chili powder for some reason.

Beautiful view and bar. Bartenders are very talented. I like to have bartenders to create their own cocktails based on my requests. I asked for a mezcal drink, but something that is not sweet and will not overpower the mezcal but enhance it. He did a very good job of creating the right balance.

Cocktails were meticulously crafted and artfully presented. I had the Space Invader Cobra, which was served very very cold in a glass that looked like a Japanese girl with a real flower over her ear. My favorite dish was the Cebiche Trio. The scallops in the squid ink was new to me and clean to the taste. The difference between each offering on the trio was striking and unique. I liked that while Kaiyo is a fusion restaurant, it does not make you feel like they are just making stuff up. From the appetizers to dessert, when the chef is true to his craft, there is nothing better than that. This is a good place for discovery of new foods and the feeling of a special occasion. It was an experience, which is what we were looking for.

So far this is the best Peruvian food I have tried in SFO. Extremely tasty, quite similar to the original Peruvian flavors and very nice presentation.

Made reservations, I had to use my credit card to reserve a table. I took my wife out last night for a date Night thinking this place has to be really good based on the reviews and the fact they serve Peruvian and Japanese food. The ceviche was the worst we have ever had in our lives. It didn’t taste like ceviche at all. No flavor, not spicy, we ordered one sushi roll and we never received it. We told our waitress to remove it from our bill. The prices don’t justify the food. Too expensive for what we received.
