Today we ate here for the first time. It won’t be the last time. They are currently operating out of a food truck until repairs to the restaurant is completed. We ordered burgers. They were huge. And get this, the meat tasted like real deal hamburger meat. I know hard to believe when so many places are selling those frozen processed patties. We asked staff about how they are made it is always fresh never frozen. A hamburger was $6 and cheese burger was $7. Very reasonably priced. The staff was very nice too.

Update 07/2023 So for comparison i bought 2 poyboys one roast beef one shrimp and one fry 37 dollars mamas kitchen 3 poyboys 3 fries a roast beef a Philly cheese steak and bacon cheeseburger poyboys 32 dollars, 5 dollars cheaper 2 whole more order of fries and an extra poyboy.

Visiting from KC and found this hidden gem! Ordered the Fried Chicken for the fam and it was delicious! The mashed potatoes and gravy were so tasty, I wish I would’ve ordered individual servings for everyone. It’s always a shot in the dark when you have to pick some random place based on the pictures and I wish I would’ve taken pics of our food but we ate it too fast. You’re safe here

Best Diner on the Bayou, the service is excellent, the quality of food is amazing, and the atomosphere is perfect. It’s worth the trip off the main road. I highly recommend the daily special or the fried Chicken. It takes 20 minutes for them to make it so you know it’s going to be good.

We have been amazed how friendly the people have been in La Fourche Parrish in all the restaurants we’ve visited. Not the case here in Kajun Twist, our waitress would totally not engage in conversation as well as anyone else in the place. As for the food, my wife had Chicken and Sausage Gumbo and it was like a not so good chicken soup with sausage. It had a very thin broth with no celery or onions. Definitely no roux was used in the process. I had a Roast Beef PoBoy that was average taste, unlike Harry’s PoBoys up the road, the bun wasn’t toasted and had nothing that would set it apart from any average PoBoy. Was not happy with the experience at all. With all the other great restaurants don’t waste your time here. It’s like they don’t even make an effort.
