Unlike the other two African restaurants I have reviewed in Indiana, Kalakutah’s food was okay. I ordered pounded yam with Egusi and Shaki (Tripe) and Pomo (cow meat). I enjoyed it. I did have some unique taste. I think the melon seeds (Egusi) was roasted. I also tasted my husband’s order, which was Ofada rice (local rice) with Ayamase. That was a disappointment. After trying it for the first time from another restaurant yesterday and liking it, today’s at Kalakutah’s was nothing to write home about.

The food was pretty good. Fried rice and plantains with croaker fish was delicious. The goat with the melon soup was fantastic. The greens, fufu, and beef are ok as well. The service sucks. Only one guy behind the counter and also doing the food. His customer service was poor and there was a long wait for the food. Try the Malta which is a Non-alcoholic carbonated drink that tastes like vanilla cola only better with vitamins and vitality.

I’ve fallen in love with Nigerian food. Kalakutah is a fantastic find. I would have given them 4.5 stars if possible. The food was fresh and delicious. The facility was clean. The prices were reasonable. The service was quick and friendly. I’d highly recommend Kalakutah and hope to return soon.

My first time to have West African food, and it was great. Greens and fufu were especially delicious. Family had the goat and a spicy red sauce with boiled eggs which they liked as well. Glad we stopped here on our way through Indianapolis.

I’ve now gotten food from here about 4 times and have enjoyed most of it each time. When I was a kid my family lived in Nigeria for 5 years, so it has been fun to get some of those foods again. The Suya and meat pies are really good.

Food was amazing!!!! Nice portion sizes and an authentic feel in general! Will recommend this restaurant. Drove all the way from Dayton and it was well worth the drive I ordered Egusi and pounded yam, with some meat pies!

Terrible service. I ordered 2 vegetarian soups on Uber eats then spoke with the restaurant to confirm my meal was vegetarian. They gave me small scoops of soup with gristle and pieces of meat. I paid $30 for SOUP for dinner just to starve that night. They should be ashamed of themselves. Greedy.

Y’all are INCREDIBLE!!! I was only recently introduced to African cuisine; homemade by a friend who is a new immigrant, so my expectations were HIGH!!! You did NOT disappoint…the quality, flavor, and experience were all top-notch!!! If love and passion were spices, just know that i could taste them in every bite! Can’t wait to order again! Thank you so much!!
