I really wanted to love this place. Obviously Instagram shows a very aesthetically pleasing restaurant and food “looks” good. Once trying.. I was very let down by the curry. The curry tasted bland and watered down.. nothing special about the food even though pictures show otherwise. Service was slow and the waiter kept coming back to ask what we ordered.

We enjoyed our first visit to the Kare Bar Restaurant today and plan to make a return visit very soon. We had the Chicken Terriyaki Plate ($17.00) and the Hamburger Steak Plate ($18.00). Our food was very good and presented well, the prices were reasonable and the service was very good. Five stars overall!

I came here for lunch and it did not disappoint. The first thing I noticed when I walked in is how clean the place is an how beautiful the design of the restaurant is. I ordered the Takoyaki and the Donkastu Curry Udon. Both had a great flavor and the staff gave me an assortment of seasonings to flavor my udon. Lastly the staff was very attentive and checked up with me very frequently. I’m definitely coming again.

I really love katsu and when I tried this place recently, their food was absolutely amazing! I usually go to their location in Virginia and was so excited to discover they were opening near me. I got their Donkatsu plate that has Fried pork cutlet served with rice, soup, and salad. My friends got the chicken katsu curry and Unagi Kamameshi rice bowl— everything was delicious and the size portions are very large! Full of flavor, nice and hot. This reminds me of when I ate katsu in Korea and I very much appreciated a place that serves great food with beautiful aesthetics. I REALLY recommend getting their soju cocktails (they are very refreshing and taste delicious), its a shareable pitcher size and the YMWLT flavor is so soft and fruity and delicately sweet. This place only opened in the past week when I tried but their service is phenomenal. The workers really pay attention to your presence and are so friendly. I think Jay was our waiter and he was so sweet and took the time to explain the foods to us and made us want to come back again soon! Thanks for opening up in Ellicott City!

It was a great place to have lunch! We ordered a bunch of appetizers and the hamburger steak curry to share. Everything was yummy, but my absolute favorite was the Hamachi Carpaccio. Loved the extra sauces they bring out with the food, the jalapeno sauce was amazingly refreshing and had a nice kick to it. Will definitely come back and try more things like the Kurobata Sausage and Kaki Fry Udon.
