The waitress needs another job…she does not understand the one she has. Food was disgusting and expensive 26 dollars for greasy potatoes and paper thin porkchops. AND they allow patrons to smoke. I thought this was illegal and was told that NO, they let people smoke in restaurants here.

Better than cracker barrel! Waitresses are friendly and personable. Treat you like you are family. My drink never hit bottom, before it was refilled. Catfish is juicy and very tasty. Known for their fried green tomatoes….you have to try for yourself. Excellent! Cute store attached. They have smoking and non smoking sections. A beautiful fireplace and decorations. I felt right at home here.

Stopped here after hiking in the Natural Bridge State Park. The wait staff are incredibly friendly and patient. The area is clean and has quite a few locals enjoying the food. The food was delicious. The biscuits and gravy melt in your mouth, and the eggs and bacon were also great. You will have a bit of a wait for you food just because it’s scratch cooked, but it’s worth it. The hostess also recommended a local swimming hole to check out and a few of the locals engaged us in conversation. Like most Kentuckians, they were friendly and generous. Definitely worth stopping in.

The steaks, fresh off the grill were amazing. Very well priced. We had 5 people and out bill was low. 2 of us had ribeye steaks w salad and potatoes. 2 kids meals which were real food, unlike most establishments. Would eat again and recommend!

It was a pleasant surprise to drive by today and notice a for sale sign on the window or Kathy’s country kitchen. It’s been several months when I tried to eat there and after my experience I decided I would never be back. It’s a good decision to sell.

We have tried so many times. We tried to give them the benefit of the doubt. But honestly it gets worse every time. It’s the only restaurant I’m aware of in Clay City so sometimes you just have no other choice. But forget about vegetarian options. We’ve gotten cornbread and beans where the beans were straight out of a can and cold. Same with the “Mac and tomato”. Cold canned tomatoes, and you pay a pretty penny for it. If you ask the waitstaff a question about a menu item, the answer will likely be “I don’t know”. The food has taken 45 minutes to get to our table on a slow night. I honestly think the only reason this place is still open is because there are no other options in town. The menu is way too big to do any bit of it well.

Great Country ham, generous portions, family atmosphere…really the waitress’s little boy was following her around helping (nice kid). We were the only strangers in the place but felt welcome with the staff as well as the customers.

The food was ok and the service was good but there was a man we think was the owner maybe, that kept coming over to us and making comments. The worst part was when we finished our meal and was getting ready to pay, we found out that they don’t take credit cards anymore. They said to go across the road to the ATM. It was very inconvenient and not one of them ever apologized or said they were sorry for the inconvenience. The man that was hovering over us just shrugged his shoulders and said ” what can you do”.

Little expensive but great quality usually. Huge turnover in waitresses due to very hateful owner, so the atmosphere is often tense and uncomfortable. I use to love eating there but I hate the bad attitudes. Plus many of the cooks are known drug users and fornicators, which makes me uncomfortable with the safety of my food. I know from a relative who witnesses a fellow employee there putting Miralax in someones coffee! No way to prove it but that’s downright unacceptable.

Delicious food, nice country atmosphere, and very nice and polite servers. The owner even came around to each table and asked if we all enjoyed our food. We loved this place!
