Katsuya is a fantastic fine dinning sushi restaurant. There are several in Los Angeles, this one is our favorite. It is usually not too crowded, but they do take reservations if you want. I would do that for a weekend night.

Yes, it is very expensive! However, the quality of the food is like no other. My husband and I couldn’t believe how delicious everything we ordered was, including the cocktails. Service was great as well. We sat outside on the comfy couches and had a nice view of LA live while eating.

I’ll start by saying location and service was great . The 3 stars comes from the food unfortunately. It didn’t taste bad…just that we have had better. Much better. We ordered the sashimi chef selection and the sushi chef selection. Edemame was bland. Of all the sushi we had on our plates there was only one roll I thought was super good. The rest were ok. Not sure if it had anything to do with it being closing time.

I love sushi, and this place has good rolls. It might be a little on pricier side, but the quality is good. I never tried anything other than sushi here, that’s the plan for next visit though!

I recommend the beef dumplings and Brussel sprouts under the apps. You can’t go wrong with any of the specialty sushi options. Reservations required. Service was somewhat slow but the Lakers play the Warriors across the street in an hour & it’s packed.

The rock shrimp here is very delicious. The steak is not that special though. The food here is very expensive. Plus there is a 5% surcharge added automatically to your bill. With these prices, I can’t recommend coming here unless you can get it reimbursed for work.

Great service. Great ambience but not a place for quiet conversations. Tasting menu, unagi, lobster was good… sushi though, was underwhelming.

Not normally a sushi fan but this was beyond delicious. Worth every penny 100%.

No joke—Ordered grilled asparagus for $9 and got FOUR stalks. My daughter got a $12 edamame and some decent sushi.
