I had a great meal. I got the 3 rolls for $15. They were all really good. They served the rolls 1 ar a time which was a cool experience. I liked the atmosphere. I sat at the bar. The bar stools are close to one another but I liked the experience and didn’t mind sitting next to folks I didn’t know. If you like meeting people, it’s great for that. It’s also close quarters if you’re on a date, which is nice.

When you & your friend feels like having a sushi on a hot sunny Saturday. What a surprise no waiting. Got seated right away. The host was friendly and service was fast. We ordered our hand roll and sashimi. Just good enough for our cravings. The place is clean and cozy. Keep up the good work.

It’s honestly so good that I hesitate to write this… I don’t want to make it any harder to get a seat at their unassuming but efficient hand-roll bar. Starting then with the concept, it’s nearly flawless. They serve your choice of 12 different rolls and an occasional special roll or two along with a couple simple sashimi dishes all ordered on a per-person card stock menu that your server then paces out—you’ll get served one roll at a time. You can order from 2 different beers and a couple of saki’s. Everyone sits at the long bar on stools—I’ve been there 7-8 times and have never waited more than 5-10 minutes for a seat as the turnover is quick. The check includes a 16% gratuity and tax—that’s it. They won’t accept additional tips. It’s a seamless predictable seating. On to the food… you will get a hand roll with two open ends using the freshest seaweed you’ve ever experienced—this will ruin you at almost every other place you go as KazuNori sets the bar! In addition.., also setting the bar is the always very warm rice against cold über-fresh fish! The more you eat, the more you want!! I recommend the salmon, toro and yellowtail most and in that order. The rolls are about $5 each and it’s hard to eat more than 5…. This is a must go for any sushi lover. Side Note: the quality of this joint led me back to Sugar Fish, their other restaurant and also part of the Sushi Nozawa Group. I’m at the point where it’s one or the other for me! A few doors down is Silverlake Ramen—I like to start here with 3-4 rolls and then next door for a bowl of Ramen… that’s a perfect night!!

Kazunori is a well designed dining experience. In their small, narrow dining space, there is one long bar where you are served fresh hand rolls. Food service is instant since they’re right there, and their use of paper mats on the bar instead of individual plates speeds up cleaning afterwards so they can serve the next party. While the sushi chefs do their thing, the managers and servers work around them by refilling drinks, ginger, etc.

Kazu nori is a simple yet delicious restaurant that serves handrolls made to order right in front of you. It has a casual setting and is a no tipping establishment. Went for dinner and ordered the Nozie set which was great. The whole meal was quick and delicious and easy to enjoy.

If I were to eat week after week, it would hands down be KazuNori. I fell in love with KazuNori ever since I was introduced to it years ago and have been a fan ever since. Prior to my visit, my friend asked me to join him in their soft opening to select guests and my first response was HELL YES! We both came in the evening on a weekday and it wasn’t too packed, even for their soft opening. Drinks were on the house so of course we both ordered some beers to go along with our course. Both opted for their six piece hand rolls and I subbed my scallops for an extra blue crab; one of my favorites!

I’ve been to two other kazunori locations, and each time had to wait almost 40 minutes. This one has no wait!! Which is amazing!! Also, they validate parking! What?! The quality of the rolls is just like the other locations, but with a much nicer, quieter ambience. Let’s keep this lowkey shall we?
