Today was my first time ordering from this restaurant. I went and picked it up on my lunch break quickly. When I got back to work, my chicken fried chicken was without gravy. I selected white gravy, as it was an option on the website, but was told that they do not have this kind of gravy after a certain time. When I let them know that when I got to the restaurant, nobody informed me of this or I would have gotten the regular brown gravy. There was no offer to make this right. The chicken itself was decent, as well as the okra, but the baked beans were some overcooked slop that had more bacon in it than beans. Would not recommend.

Ordered a pull pork loaded potato. The dried brown stuff that you see is supposed to be pulled pork. Almost jerky like. One bite and I was over it. A total waste of $13. To the trash can this goes.

Spent 30 minutes in the drive-through. And that was the best part of the experience. I would not have served this meal to a dog. Chicken sandwich was burnt on the outside and cold on the inside and the fries tasted like they had been cooked in old oil, really, really old oil. I ate one bite of the chicken sandwich and two fries and I was done. The rest went in the trashcan. I will never try this restaurant again and if I could give you zero stars I would have.

The food was okay, not bad, not good just average. The wings, lemon pepper and hot were nice and hot and the flavor on the hot was very good, the lemon pepper so so. The fried green tomatoes were a greasy mess and had a weird, sweet taste. The service left something to be desired. The place only had about 5 other tables occupied and the waitresses struggled to keep up. We had to ask for napkins and had to get the staff to get her to come over a few times when we needed service. All and all I would go back for some wings. It was one of those meals as my mother used to say “A belly full is a belly full…”

We really wanted to like this place. Seems like a bunch of kids working there with no supervision. Out of numerous items including tea. When they put more out is was water and sugar only. Guess they forgot the tea part. There was only one other couple there and they got up and requested a refund. Food wasn’t good and some was cold. I’ve heard the owner of this restaurant recently purchased our local established Mexican restaurant. We’re really hoping it doesn’t get operated like this place. Unless there are significant improvements I don’t see this restaurant lasting. Will not return.

My husband and I were in town and looking for a quick meat and three type lunch. We found Kemp’s and saw they had hamburger steak with sides as a daily special and thought we would give them a try. Wait staff was sweet, but it definitely was not quick and the hamburger steak looked as if they forgot they were cooking it. It was completely charred on the underside and broke in half when I tried to cut through for my first bite. I ended up peeling The burnt half off and eating the top half that was not burned. The burger was disappointing and the fries tasted like they had been cooked in old grease. While we appreciate the wait staff offering to make things right, we do not plan on returning.

Breakfast was good, went for dinner and got one wrong item. The fries were unbelievably old and greasy, never should have been served. The bbq was not great and the chicken sandwich was definitely not freshly grilled.

So they closed Yardbirds and opened up Kemp’s. If you liked or visited Yardbirds things will look similar and some things were carried over from the old menu like the chicken and Waffles. The service was good and the food came in a timely fashion. The price was good for what we got, about 20.00 and some change for two people and an appetizer.
