Ken is an absolute legend. From serving the best sushi in the city to kicking back a sake shot with us.

We went to Ken’s for the first time last night. It was my boyfriend’s birthday and we’d heard such great things about this place. Boy were they right! We had some of the best sushi of our lives. Plus the waitstaff was a delight! They saved us the perfect table for two and remembered his birthday when we got there. Ken checked in on us himself & sent over some complimentary sake. Then our dessert came with a birthday candle! All in all it was truly a magical evening and we left with full hearts & bellies. Thanks Mitchell, Ken, and the rest of the crew. We will absolutely be back!

It’s more of a fusion rolls that gets me. Do order workshop rolls or Hula rolls. The combination os just good. But my favorite is a hotpot with fish roe it test so good! Do stir fast since the rice can burnt easy. But it was a fun experience. If you sit outside in summer I recommend some mosquitoes repellent. Because that will help your overall experience without scratching and eating. My memorable icecream is the truffle. Just good to end the meal.

Where do you find sushi in Carmel Valley? Ken Sushi Workshop is a nice little find. High quality, fresh and delicious sushi. Parking is easy. The prices match the quality of the sushi. If you’re in the area, it’d be hard to find better quality sushi.

By far the best vibe and staff from any sushi places in California.

They were pack when I got there so they were a little slow but I was more than satisfied. The spicy salmon had some chopped tomatoes with a zestiness to them. It was a very creative look and tasted great. I recommend this for gatherings of less than 10 people. The quality matched the price quite well. Although I prefer cheaper sushi because of my time in Japan it was still worth while.

4 of us sat down at 545 and they wanted us out by 715 even tough we spent $125 per head. We were thinking about ordering dessert and the manager came and asked us to leave since our time was up. They sat us in a smelly plastic igloo and the sushi was below average. And to top it all the place is in a medical looking plaza with zero ambiance.

It was one of the best sushi I had this year if not the best. The service was great. Ken the chef was super attentive. We asked for an Omakase and he kept serving us food until we asked him to stop. After that he still brought us a soup to settle everything down and a homemade ice cream. All of the nigiris were amazing and they also served less traditional food like soft shell crab tempura. Ken was always happy to talk to us and explain the dishes. Would highly recommend sitting at the counter. They service was excellent. They were always checking that we had drinks. The atmosphere was really nice as well and it looked like everyone was enjoying the food. Highly recommend visiting.

Hands down one of the best sushi experiences in San Diego. Ken’s creativity on the Omakase courses are mind blowing and each one has perfectly balanced flavors. We’ve had Omakase here a few times and are always surprised with what comes out on the plate. The staff there do a great job and are super attentive.
