Stopped here otw home from Blacksburg on Mothers Day. Could tell by the long line and packed lot this was a place to check out. Got the fried chicken meal with fries and came with 2 of their rolls with honey to dip. Amazing!! Everything was delicious and the woman ringing up taking orders was a master at her job! We go here for the fried chicken every time we go to Lexington. We love the fried chicken! It’s always crispy, hot and juicy. The rolls remind me of deep fried scones. Love them! Don’t miss out on the coleslaw. It’s a sweeter type and perfect. Service has always been fast and friendly.

Don’t let the appearance and simple menu distract you, the fried chicken is pretty darn good. It’s always crispy and fresh. The mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese are usually good as well. The fried biscuits must be tried but be warned…..they are fried and a little bit greasy but worth a try!

It’s one of those all time great places. The food is the focus and nobody really cares about the rest of it. Fits into the same category as places like The White House in Atlantic City NJ, Wright’s Dairy-Rite in Staunton VA. I’m sure part of the charm and allure is the memories. Today I had fresh hot fried chicken and those biscuits. When those biscuits are hot they are one of the top all time foods.

The sauce burgers, cole slaw, mashed potatoes with gravy, fries, fried chicken and chocolate moose tracks ice cream were all AMAZING! The prices are also very reasonable! I wish we had a place like this in my hometown in northern Indiana.
