This was my first time going to Ken’s. The inside is just beautiful. We got to meet Ken, and he is just delightful. Ken explained how he makes the burgers. The waitress was so kind. Food came out promptly and was absolutely delicious. I had the El Paso Burger. It was a huge burger. The burger was so juicy and Packed full of flavor! Best burger I have ever had! French fries are home made and very crispy. Very delicious. I highly recommend if you want delicious freshly made food!

This was our first dining experience at Ken’s Diner. We had been checking out the menu for weeks trying to make it a point to go and try.

Had a good experience here. The char cooked wings were real good, burger juicy, and taco casserole spiced perfectly. The waitress was nice and the food came out quickly and was still very hot when it hit the table. Thank you!

Absolutely the Worst in Oneonta. I support our local community and the establishments but I can not believe how bad the service and food were. Super slow night and we still waited 45 minutes for food that should have been done in 10-15 minutes. When the food came it was embarrassingly cold and the quality was more like a high school lunch room. I was sick within an hour of eating there. Ken was a nice host coming to each table and greeting folks, but the menu was WAY to ambitious and the execution in the kitchen was absolutely horrible. I hope they can turn it around but we would never go again.

Family took me for my birthday. They made me feel special from the servings of appetizers that were awesome through the entree – barbecued tenderloin tips that melted in my mouth, served with great mashed potatoes & a generous helping of baked veggies – and then they surprised me with a yummy piece of moist choc cake! Couldn’t ask for better or faster service.

I’ve had their marinated sirloin and baked fish and both were good. Their scalloped potatoes are fabulous! The servers were attentive and host very personable. My husband loves their delmonico with mushrooms and onions.

3 stars is a bit generous. Ken was very nice and welcoming. Don’t know if I would call it a “Cafe”. I felt it was along the lines of a simplified American/Southwestern “Applebees”. Cooks yelled very loudly to wait staff when orders were complete. I ordered the cheese Quesadilla with steak. Steak was very tender and tasty however, there was just a sprinkling of cheese melted onto a dried tortilla. I expected it to be gooey with cheese and it was very dry (as if put under a microwave to melt). The salsa was not very moist either and just literally a smear of re-fried beans on side of plate. Not worth the price. My husband had a single cheeseburger and fries. Cheeseburger was much smaller than the bun and fries looked like they were thrown on the plate. Was not an attractive looking plate however the lettuce ,tomato and onion were stacked nicely. Burger itself was good but again not worth the price. Drinks were good but no paper napkin with them so nowhere to put mixer straw or orange/lemon rind except right on the table. I asked for a box to take home remaining lunch. Didn’t even put leftover salsa or sour cream in box.

Pizza crust was burned on the outside raw on the inside. Cheese cake was soggy. Both times I complained the waitress tried to convince me I was wrong. “It’s not burned it just looks that way because of the wood fired oven” “he makes the cake at home and brings it in fresh every other day”. And that brings up the question: does whoever makes the cake have a kitchen in their house that gets visited by the health inspector? Either way the whole operation doesn’t appear to involve anyone who knows how a restaurant should be run. On the plus side, The decor is very nice.
