Edit: Thought it was great before, but now, after interior updates, even more better! Please stop by on a Friday or Saturday (only open these days).had the ribs and burnt ends with Mac and cheese infused with brisket. Worth the 2 hr. Drive!

This family own/run Kountry BBQ restaurant is phenomenal; the atmosphere is friendly and inviting! Everything is made fresh that day, so get there early before they run out!! The Brisket melts in your mouth, Ribs fall off the bone, and BBQ is flavorful! The Brisket Mac & Cheese is the best! The Baked Beans, Coleslaw, and Green Beans are all tasty as well! They have home made BBQ sauces, regular and spicy, but to be honest it isn’t needed! Can’t forget the cornbread muffins that come with each plate! They have several homemade desserts as well my favorite it the single serving apple pies. If you’re ever in Vanceboro around 11:00 on a Friday or Saturday, looking for something good to eat stop and grab a plate you’ll not regret it!!

I own a local business in Vanceboro and myself and my employees try to go here every Friday. The food is great and the price is extremely fair. This is by far the best bbq that I have had in a long time, the owner Kent is very passionate about bbq and I come through in all of the food we tried (we tried a little of everything) The brisket was cook to perfection, it was nice and moist with a great bark and beautiful smoke ring. The burnt ends were just the right amount of sweetness and melted in your mouth, the best meat candy I have had in awhile. The pulled pork was succulent and well seasoned, smoked turkey was super moist and well seasoned and the ribs were also seasoned to perfection and fall of the bone tender. The brisket mac, bbq beans, sweet corn muffins, potato salad and coleslaw were also to die for! The brisket mac was everyone’s favorite with the potato salad and bbq beans tied for second, corn muffins 3rd (sweet and moist my 5yr old son at 3). Lastly the coleslaw, it was fresh and delicious but I wish it had just a little more tang to it to help cut some of the richness of those amazing meats. Oh and can’t for get the bbq sauce, some of the best homemade sauce I have ever had. Fill me up a tub and give me a straw . Next time we are passing thru from cleveland we will have to stop for more sauce and amazing meat. Thanks so much for an amazing meal and experience Kent, it is so cool to see someone doing what they love and doing it to perfection. Keep the smoke Rollin!

Excellent BBQ and service. Their recent remodel had added more space for seating and it looks wonderful. I highly recommend the brisket, cornbread muffins and potatoe salad! Make sure to pickup a hat, t-shirt and mason jar of their perfect BBQ sauce. It’s definitely a hidden treat of Texas BBQ in this NC vinegar BBQ land.

We travel all over the world and this is really good bar b que. We had the brisket, which is very popular, turkey breast, ribs, and pulled bar b que. We will definitely go back when we are in the area. They are only open Friday and Saturday.
