The best dining experience in Boise, if not all of Idaho. James Beard Award winning chef Kris Komori and his team have created a beautiful and intimate space where groups of people from all over gather to get to experience and enjoy their food. The main dining room is small, so reservations are definitely required. You will be served a multitude of dishes of the kitchens choosing showcasing local ingredients and flavors pairings thought of by the same people serving you the food. The current menu is showcasing summer memories of the staff at Kin and you get to know each dish just as you would the person behind it. The flavors were all in harmonious balance while feeding you plenty to be full without feeling bloated. Most of the food is even plated within the same room you are dining in, and you get to each with your eyes just as much as you do with your nose and mouth. The supper club (the later seating) even has beverages included in the price of the meal and all complimented the food very well. Both the main seating and the supper club are definitely worth a visit, and they change the menu every 5 weeks so there is always a reason to keep coming back. We had a fantastic experience and meal and will definitely be coming back.

Had a wonderful experience last evening with their prix fixe dinner. Food, presentation, staff and cocktails were WONDERFUL! For the two of us having two cocktails each, the dinner and the wine pairing it was $400 (including tip). The best specialty dinner I’ve had in a long time!!!

Had a fantastic experience. The menu changes every 5 weeks and is always inspired by someone’s stories. They tell you the inspiration of each dish. Very unique approach!

2023: Excellent dining experience for Boise. This restaurant masterfully presents its food and wine pairings(some other beverages too) with artistic style and flair. Eating here is all about food and flavor. James Beard nominated at this time of this review…. Lovely to share together with someone special, with another couple or a small party of friends.2022: My Valentine took me for KIN’s 5 course tasting menu with curated beverage pairings. It is a beautiful experience and get there early & enjoy gathering in a private room before dinner. It is a wonderful experience that brings an awareness of different flavors, textures & pairings. We came away with a few new ideas we want to add to our own repertoire. Absolutely going back because they change the menu every month or two. 2021: The sprouted salad & smoked trout tartare was delicious. We will be going back to try some more of the delicious “food art” that is pleasing to the eye and the tastebuds. The wine’s were excellent. There is a small selection, but carefully chosen to offer great quality. Nice trendy place with a good energetic vibe.

Amazing experience. There’s nothing I can add to all of the reviews highlighting the creative and entertaining menus, except to echo those sentiments! Our favorite part were the unwritten little surprises throughout the meal. Felt so fortunate that we got to enjoy the final week of Menu 27 and celebrate the James Beard award. Thanks for including us in your KIN for an evening!

Amazing, unforgettable food & drink but experience feels forced, a bit pretentious, and set-up/layout is not great.

What can I say – it is an experience! It is a prix fixe, themed menu which changes every 6 weeks. The courses are extremely creative – bordering on artistry. One would never think of pairing some of the ingredients together in a million years – but somehow they make it work and the results are delicious! That’s what you get from a James Beard award winning Chef. The service is attentive and professional. Not cheap, but one of the most creative dining experiences in the region. A must have if you are a foodie.
