Awesome local bar/restaurant on the river. Take the ferry over from St. Charles, MO. Service outstanding! Peach daiquiri amazing!

View and atmosphere is fun but the food was just okay. Buffalo fish and catfish fritters wasn’t anything great – pretty bland for being a river fish joint. This is more of a have a drink on the patio biker bar. Pleasantly surprised with how clean the restaurant is.

Very unassuming place. Had a great lunch with great service. Super clean, fresh food, great burgers. Also a great view of the river.

This establishment has not been open for a couple of years now since the last large flood we had. They totally tore down the structure and rebuilt a foundation, but have never moved forward past that.

Cool place to stop if you are touring through Calhoun County. The beer is cold and watching the river, the ferry, and people coming up from the dock is fun. You’ll see herons, pellicans, and bikinis, and maybe a stray bald eagle–although the restaurant isn’t really open during eagle season. The beer is cold, the fried chicken and catfish are good, the people are friendly and the pictures at the bar are cool. Kinder’s is comfortable, welcoming, and unpretentious. I hear the pie is good, but I don’t really eat dessert, so you’ll have to do the recon on that yourself.

Friendly, familiar faces… Top notch menu, and memorable mixed drinks make Kinder’s an undisputed crowd favorite. Be sure to look around at the historical photos of Kinder’s and it’s family around the interior to really get a sense of love and commitment for this hidden gem. Don’t forget to stop by during peach season for daiquiris made with local grown fresh peaches!

Half of the excitement when you bring your family is the river especially if you come from St. Louis and go across the ferry. The food to me was reasonable and what you would expect from a small country restaurant but my 90+ year old Mother in law thought it was the greatest. She could get chicken livers and gizzards as an appetizer and then whatever she wanted. It is not a flamboyant upscale so called sophisticated restaurant, (not that I would want to go to one anyway), but what I would call down home cooking. The food was fine, the place was clean, and the people were courteous and we will go back shortly. During the summer months when it is probably pretty lively, parking might be tight.

Have been here before and the peach daiquiri’s are truely great, however we sat there for 20 min and 2 waitresses passed us a total of 7 times all together without saying a word. Even after we grabbed them and asked for atleast waters and menus we waited 10 minutes and got nothing. The place wasnt very busy, maybe half full outside and a third inside. Like an earlier review said, staff here is pathetic. They really need to learn the basics of a restaurant. Drop off waters and menus and take a drink order, you know, generally acknowledge that the customer is there especially after theyve sought you out.
