I had the roast with mac and cheese and candy yams. While I really recommend the sides, the roast was not my favorite. The roast wasn’t on the menu nor were the yams but our server mentioned it. The atmosphere was really nice, it was semi busy so there was a bit of a wait for a table of 4. Our server was attentive and efficient! I really enjoyed this place, recommend for Sunday dinner.

Very nice atmosphere, friendly staff and great food! I ordered the Mac and cheese, chicken wings sweet and tangy and black eyed Pees.! I also had some catfish w pickles and onions and collard greens! Very good southern taste! I love supporting black owned businesses and I’ll be back!

I will definitely return! The food was great! Tasted like home cooking. I had pot roast over rice. Delicious! There was only one server for the whole restaurant, and she always had a smile. The restaurant is small, and I was with someone who uses a walker. It was a little difficult for her to get from the back to the front. It was easier for her to go outside and around to the restroom than to try to go through the restaurant.

Good vibe, beautiful ladies, great music.. The server seemed to be irritated with having my family and I. We had never been to this establishment. So, I wanted to treat my mother to a soulful dinner, but we weren’t familiar with the menu. We ordered appetizers and got everything at once; leaving my family of 4 with very little room to eat or for our drinks. Although the food was fresh, it lacked seasoning and flavor.. The music is the focal point here! Again, great music atmosphere; just lacking in the food and service areas..

I had an issue with the Bartender, and the Server. I sat at the bar for a while trying to get service. I guess she only acknowledges people that she knows, or familiar faces. I guess I was invisible. I tried getting her attention several times to order a drink and I was completely ignored. Another customer even told her that I needed assistance and that didn’t do any good. The same thing happened with the Server; She was walking around singing out loud as she was the live entertainment for the night. 🙁 People that seem to be regulars were cheering her on. The Server continued to assist them with whatever they wanted. I moved to the table where my friend was. The Server came over and helped my friend, but never acknowledged me. She wouldn’t even look my way and I was sitting right there. The Bartender and Server’s behavior was really strange. The owner seemed nice. I never got a chance to order anything. I guess if you aren’t a regular you don’t get any service.
