I made a copy of Keika review and posted below, because I can t describe better all of my emotions about this place. I prove each single word in her review. This place is amazing like you walk in different word and left everything behind of you.

Excellent Omakase experience using seasonal local and Japanese fish and produce. Love the idea that the focus of the menu is whatever is in season and the dishes are executed well. The dishes are well balanced in flavor and intrigues the pallet. The wine and sake pairing well worth the money. Overall excellent value for what you get. Make sure you book your reservation early as there are only 2 seatings of 8 people each seating.

This was one of the best meals I’ve ever had! I’ve had omakase before, but never like this. The room was beautifully decorated and it felt so peaceful and intimate. There was more than just sushi for this meal; every dish was unique and fascinating and, of course, delicious! I tried so many things that I had never tried before. When we left the restaurant after the meal, all of the chefs were lined up waiting to hand us an envelope that had the menu for that night. It was was so touching and the perfect end to a perfect evening! We went for my wife’s birthday and we will be spending all of our birthdays there from now on.

Kinme is a fine dining experience not to be missed. The skill, care and passion of the chefs and staff was on full display and the intimate setting makes you feel like you’re part of an event, rather than just another table the restaurant is working to serve. Our evening at Kinme was every bit as enjoyable as those we’ve had at Michelin-starred establishments.

Highly recommended! Definitely the top of my top omakase experiences in San Diego. I have been to many omakase in San Diego, such as Soichi, Hidden Fish, Matoi, SushI Tadokoro, and Sushi Ota and some others not worth mentioning and truly enjoyed this experience.

They pre-charge you a %20 tip before you arrive. Then, if you order anything else while going through your courses, they add another %20 tip to that bill. They’re focusing on taking as much extra money from the customer that they possibly can. Their current strategy is to double dip %20 service charges on each reservation. A tip is supposed to be left up to the person at the end of their experience. If it’s a party of 7+, okay sure, add a tip/service charge but no quality restaurant forces %20 tips ahead of time.

Possibly the best dining experience in San Diego and certainly the best kaiseki-ryōri / Omakase. It was a well orchestrated symphony of food and service. Grab a reservation if you can!
