A very nice new ramen restaurant. The noodles are very good. The gyoza are excellent, tender, and not overly fried. The ramen broth was good but different from other choices – thinner and not as creamy as some. There was no wait to get in, which is not always the case elsewhere.

We came here on opening day just by chance. That being said the service was pretty hype. We were greeted with a thousand hellos when we walked in and were almost constantly being checked on. The ramen here is excellent for what it is trying to be. Their self named staple is basically like a light pork shio broth. I like thicker Tonkotsu broths mainly but for what it was aiming to be it hit the mark. We also tried the spicy miso and it was excellent and spicier than expected. They make their own noodles just not in house. Their noodles are thick and chewy in a good way. We tried their pork bun which was a little saucy and their fried chicken which was pretty tasty. Most of their ramen is $19 a bowl for a regular size and comes with limited toppings. I think that’s pretty much the going rate right now so I can’t really complain. Any other spot in convoy except for Santouka is running around the same price or higher. I look forward to trying other bowls of ramen here and I’m glad this place is finally opened. Konpai.

Great food and service. The texture of noodles was nice and chewy, and the broth was flavorful. Parking was not a problem.

Walked in right before closing for dinner peeps, but still seated and served. Lived in Japan a long time so I was both skeptical and excited to try this ramen here in California. I was delighted to find it tastes much like it did back home. The seasoned egg is probably the best I’ve ever had, perfectly half cooked and truly complemented the broth wonderfully. I had the kitakata ramen with seaweed and bean sprouts, and of course the seasoned egg as well as some gyoza. Absolutely delicious. I will be coming back to try even more of the menu.

Newly opened. Ramen and rice bowls with some appetizers. Toppings are extra so be prepared to pay at least $2 per topping. Overall good ramen

My new favorite ramen joint in Convoy! I’m glad it’s not very crowded (yet). The thick, wavy noodles are so good and perfectly cooked, and the original broth is sooo delicious and light. In the past two months, we’ve been 3-4 times!

Food is excellent. Best Japanese fried chicken I’ve had. Service is great. When I first came here the reviews were below 4 stars. After eating I was wondering if people wanted reviews to stay low so this place stays under the radar. I’m not sure what more someone eating ramen in San Diego would want.

Eating out with little ones could be stressful for parents at times, and this particular occasion indeed turned out to be one of those times. However, it wasn’t due to screaming babies.

I really enjoyed the ramen noodles at this resturant. As some people have pointed out, the soup base is shio rather than tonkotsu, resulting in a refreshing flavor. I got the geen chili ramen. Very peppery and delicious. If you are in the mood for something “spicy”, then I think this is a great choice.

I dined at Kitakata Ramen last Saturday, unfortunately, the experience was far from satisfying. As someone who has explored various ramen places, including those offering Japanese fried chicken, I was genuinely disappointed by the food.
