Spacious seafood themed restaurant that is never too busy during happy hour. There’s a lot of outdoor seating for that glass of wine and oyster special before dinner. Recently we came in for dinner because it was too hot to cook. The lobster Cobb was generous in its pile of lobster and other garnishes. The scallops were sweet and fresh. A burger topped with lobster is also a novel way to get some crustacean in your meal.

Kittery is a seafood restaurant that specializes in Lobster, Mussels, Salmon, Shrimp, Scallops, Calamari and Fish of the day. Appetizers were, Mussels in Whit Wine Garlic Sauce, Calamari with House Special Dipping Sauce and Buffalo Wings… all was very delicious. For the Entrée had Grilled Salmon with Mash Potatoes and Asparagus. My daughter had the Clams with White Wine Sauce. Of course it was delicious, we share.

5.1.2021 – pictures are from 2021, but recent dining experience remains the same. Very kind staff that’s attentive. The food is good and well prepared. The space can get crowded, but if you show up a little on the early side it’s not a problem to get a table for a midsize party.

My partner and I went for happy hour. We were excited because my partner loves fried clams. We ordered oysters, salmon, and, of course, the fried clams. We were surprised and disgusted when we found a worm in our oysters. The server cleared the plate, and we decided to continue with what turned out to be a mediocre meal. My partner’s fried clams were tough and chewy and the salmon was flavorless. When we received the bill, we were surprised to see we were still being charged for the worm oysters. When we asked to discuss the charge with a supervisor, we were told they were not there, so another server was sent over. This was the first time someone apologized for the unhygienic shellfish, and they took it off the bill after consulting their supervisor… who we had just been told was not there. Mistakes happen, but live insects crawling around the food, a failure to apologize, and lying to customers make this restaurant a place you should absolutely miss. There are too many good seafood restaurants in the neighborhood to patronize mediocrity.

The blue point oysters were fresh when I ordered them during happy hour, but I was disappointed by their lack of variety of oysters given that they’re a seafood restaurant (they only had blue point oysters). The fried belly clams were decent, as were the fish and chips. The waiters were friendly but a bit slow.

Disappointed with my experience here. Service was lackluster despite it not being super crowded when we were there. The best thing we had was our appetizer- the calamari was great. However our entrees were pretty bland and almost bad? The lobster roll was super funky (maybe our fault for ordering a lobster roll in Brooklyn) and the branzino was bland. Really wanted to like this place, but maybe will come back to try their happy hour specials.

The place has a nice outdoor setup and has a pretty casual look inside. The drinks were just ok. I got the lobster roll and the lobster was very overcooked. The tater tots were perfect though. The crab cake sandwich was fine but the bread was a bit too dense for the sandwich. The raw oysters were not very flavorful or meaty. The service was fast and friendly.

Pretty average place. Lobster roll was disappointing to say the least.

My phone was changing behind the bar so I couldn’t take pictures of the mojito & dozen raw oysters. You know what those things look like. They’ve got the toilet with the tank near the ceiling, It feels dignified to pull the flush cord, a welcome surprise
