K’kinaco (kee-nah-co), the first Nikkei & Pisco Bar experience in Minnesota is located in the heart of Hopkins on Mainstreet. Nikkei Cousine is the Peruvian style of cooking Japanese by using Andean ingredients and spices – tropical fish, quinoa, aji amarillo, and rocoto peppers – and molded by Japanese techniques. Where do I start? This place is phenomenal! I was traveling in Peru last fall and I have been searching for a place to server authentic Peruvian dishes and I found it in Hopkins! Pisco Sour is a must order as soon as you sit down! Then from there you must get some Ceviche! I have a soft spot for Lomo Saltado, so I always get that as well! I have had the Inka roll as well and that was amazing! The sushi chef (owner) let me sample all sorts of things from the bar. I cannot recommend this place enough!

Will be back! Service was above excellent, but the food? My god! I wanted to cry when we had the tuna tiraditos, the arroz chaufa was some of the best fried rice I’ve had in my life. Everything we tried was great. Dessert was so good I finished it despite being full already. The drinks were strong & tasty. A great find and will have me back in Hopkins often.

Went today for the first time and had a nice experience. Roberto stopped by our table to chat with us about Pisco and was very friendly explaining some the history behind it to my husband. I’m Peruvian and definitely appreciated seeing ingredients that reminded me of home.

This place has so much heart. Really unique and the Peruvian flavors made me never want sushi without lime and cilantro. The crudo was amazing, the drinks were incredible, and our greeting from one of the restaurant partners made our even. Highly recommend

We ventured out to the west side of town because I read so much good press about this new restaurant. It didn’t disappoint but I would say the sushi, while very good, wasn’t totally mind blowing. The drinks (sour with their pico alcohol) were addictive. Expensive too. The sushi nagiri was very good but their specialty roll was the best (Mancora roll, also expensive). The sushi maki rolls are good sized with a lot of fish inside. The yucca fries appetizer isn’t a good value for $9 so I would skip that. The fried dumplings appetizer was excellent so make sure you order that. Lastly the chicken and beef skewers were the surprise hit at our table, so good with the sauce and scallions. I would definitely return and the owners and staff are all wonderful people and so polite.

Came here for my birthday dinner with my Peruvian family and the food, environment, and staff were absolutely amazing. My mom absolutely approved of all of the Peruvian food and it’s the best we’ve had here in MN! The service was incredible too and they made us feel so welcome and at home! The ceviche was on point- with everything else we ordered such as the Arroz Chaufa, Pisco Sours (absolutely incredible), Yuca Fries, Chicha Morada, Causa Limeña (Also recommend), Suspiró de limeña, and Lomo saltado which was great. Everything about this place is awesome and we can’t wait to come back to try more! 10/10

I love place! Amazing menu with a variety of Peruvian dishes with a focus on the Japanese influence on Peruvian dining. The yellowtail cheek was one of our favorites, as well as the Causitas. Get the causa trio if you want to try all three Causitas. The gyoza are off the charts and the Aji Amarillo sauce is delish. Great drink list as well!
