Stopped by while passing through the area. Ordered two items off of their “daily special menu”. One was a chicken dish ($18) and one was a fish dish ($20). While I initially thought the prices might be slightly high for a diner’s daily special, I changed my mind when I saw the portion size. The portions were generous with each dish having nearly enough food to feed two people. Agree with another review that I had seen somewhere….the food was very good, but not extraordinary. Really liked the french fries. Two minor observations- the dressing for salads is served in a small plastic container. Not quite enough dressing for me; ordering an extra might be an option AND the pickled beets were not very pickled….very bland. Having said that, I wouldn’t hesitate to stop again if I’m in the area. A shout out to our server Kaylee. She was friendly, energetic, and provided great service.

Went in today (06/18/23) for a breakfast to go order. Staff was super friendly. Food was made really fast and it was also extremely good. Every single thing my wife and I had ordered was perfect. Will definitely be going back again.

Good diner, and decent food, excellent server. Ordered mostly breakfast for our party of five, and had a Reuben sandwich as well. Bacon was cooked perfectly to our liking. Eggs over medium were good, but slightly overcooked – not much yolk was still liquid. Pancakes were more dense/heavy than expected, and overcooked/dark brown. Blueberry pancakes were slightly better than plain. Homefries were good. Waffle was also slightly overcooked, and hard to eat. Reuben sandwich had fatty meat and bread tasted stale. Tea selection is mostly herbal, no green tea, standard black tea.

Quiet little diner, easy to get too. Very friendly staff. Food was better than average but coming from Long Island not the level of diner food I am used to. That said food was definitely worth the price paid.

The food surpassed expectations when I went here with my 3 children. Jamie our waitress was, AMAZING! Only thing that bothered me mostly was a male employee walked over to my 4 year old daughter and started talking to her. But ignored my two boys. He held her hand and it was kind of a weird situation. I love the restaurant but don’t feel comfortable going back there while that employee still works there. Everything else about KJM was amazing.

First time at KMJ diner in Shippensburg. It was very similar to other diners in the area. Their chicken parm sandwich was really good, and the batter dipped fries were great. Also, their chocolate raspberry layer cake was worth the $5.99!

I wish I could say something better about this lunch I had. This restaurant has taken over from CJ’s in Shippensburg, which I loved. I went in with an open mind because I’m aware of the origination of KMJ in Chambersburg. That location is a step above diner. I was looking for something light so I ordered a Caesar salad topped with grilled chicken breast. Basically they chopped up part of a head of iceberg lettuce and put some chicken pieces on top. Obviously they have no idea how to make a Caesar salad. So I was disappointed. I’ll try it again but I’m a little apprehensive about going back. But I’ll give them one more chance.
