Very disappointed. I don’t understand which part of their food makes it Japanese. Teriyaki chicken had no teriyaki sauce and Hibachi shrimp was just boiled and bland. There was just an abundance of boiled carrots and tasteless rice which they call as fried rice. Don’t get me started on the house salad which was just plain iceberg lettuce. Not worth the money. My kids in elementary school can cook better dishes than the ones they served. This place is such a joke!

My boyfriend and I came to celebrate our 4.5 years here, and I really enjoyed it! The inside was super busy, but we were able to sit at a table with no issue. The service was quick! We got our food within about 5 minutes of ordering it, and the food was hot and fresh. For appetizers, we got the fried dumplings and vegetable tempura. The fried dumplings ($4.50) were nice and crunchy, and went super well with the dipping sauce. The vegetable tempura ($8.00) was also amazing! I ordered the teriyaki chicken entree, and it was amazing. I didn’t realize it came with rice and carrots, which was a pleasant surprise (I wasn’t sure if they had only come with the combination plates). The food was more than enough! For the price ($9.50) it was a really generous portion. I really enjoyed this experience and am excited to come back!

Arrived 7 PM on Saturday, Jan 28. Ordered vegetable medley. 10 minutes into eating, I find multiple large shrimp mixed into the dish. Multiple staff stated “there is no manager” and that they are “just doing their best”. After leaving, when I attempted to call, the phone rings off the hook.

I would put a lower rating but this is one of my go to places for sushi. I come in here quite often and was appalled by how rude a young blonde girl was who was working there. We walked in and we know that we are allowed to sit anywhere, we look around and it’s pretty packed around but we saw a booth that was being cleaned so we patiently waited because we wanted to sit in the booth since there moto is “sit anywhere you like” the waitress comes out and we politely asked if we could sit in the booth, she threw down the menus rolled her eyes, heavy sighed and practically embarrassed us in front of the whole restaurant! We ended up sitting at a different table since it was a huge inconvenience for her. If you’re going to act like that simply don’t work in a place that you give service. Thank God we didn’t get her, I guess the other waitresses saw how she acted because she was gone for a whole 10 minutes and finally cooled down enough to come back in! The food was good and the waitress who took us over was phenomenal and very kind and attentive! Again I don’t give low ratings but the way that this waitress acted out was very unacceptable, considering I come to eat here almost every week!

I usually don’t bother with japanese restaurants, but my daughter recommended it. Was pleasantly surprised. Service was good and the teriyaki chicken plate was delicious.

I love Kobe… I’ve been coming here for quite some time. I recently dined in and it was absolutely the worst experience I’ve had eating at a restaurant in a while. It’s another reason why it’s hard to live in Sylva due to the lack of options. In my opinion if you’re in the line of service when it comes to hospitality… don’t work in a position of serving if you’re not over yourself or if you’re gonna let it affect you. I wouldn’t say this if I’ve never served before. I will NEVER spend a dime here again… ps: not to mention we were greeted with poor service and magically had hair in our food.

I am a regular (about once a week whether it be dine-in or take-out). The service is 5 stars! I rated 4 stars because the last few times I ordered egg rolls they were soggy on the bottom side where they had been put in the paper wrapper right out of the fryer probably. Such a bummer. In the past they have been super crisp and fantastic.

We ordered takeout for our son’s graduation from WCU. It was his choice and the food was quite good. Glad we ordered takeout as the place was packed. The staff was friendly and had our order ready to go!
