Some of the best sushi in town. The hibachi grill is a fantastic experience, perfect for a celebration or family dinner. The chefs are so talented and make it a lot of fun.

Went to Kobe for wife’s birthday. Split the miso ramen as a appetizer and split the love boat. Ramen was good. Love boat was absolutely amazing. My favorite has always been salmon but the yellow fin they had was so good, it might be my new favorite.

Went for the first time on Friday, been to others but not here, my friend and I went and wasn’t disappointed. The broth could of had just a touch more seasoning, but it was good. The cheese rangoo was good and the calamari had good flavor but it was just a little more on the chewy side. The Dragon Roll was also very good. We both got The Triple, what we got was very tasty also, all the meat was very tender. Everything in all was very good, yes staff was very friendly, food delicious, yes I’d go back and so would my friend.

Pleasantly surprised by Kobe! Being gluten free I avoid Asian cuisine because of the soy sauce but they had gluten free options for chicken fried rice and Chicken Hibachi! I got the chicken fried rice and it was really good! The staff were great! I’d love to come back next time I visit Bloomington!

Sushi was okay, but coconut shrimp was so oily and the cheesecake was not fresh. Will not come back.

I have been here twice already. I go to Bloomington for work around once a week. On one of those days decided to go to Japanese place craving for sushi. Ended with bento box and appetizers I could not even eat at one time. I used to live in San Francisco with all of it’s amazing restaurants and very developed Asian culture. Was kind of sceptic what kind of Japanese food is going to be cooked for me in the middle of Illinois. I was surprised in a good way. Crab wontons we’re crispy and creamy, miracle salad dressing (mayonnaise, carrot, ginger and … something else) turned regular salad leaves into delicious dish. Beef was medium fried and juicy. Rice wrap on my sushi was very thin and I could clearly feel avocado taste. Liked this place. It is not fancy, pretty affordable, good restaurant to go with your friends for grilled seafood. Will be coming back.

This is my first time back since the pandemic and I saw a distinct difference in the quality. This used to be a 5 star would recommend to my friends place but now its just mediocre. The service was okay but the chef was very low energy and hard to hear as they spoke so low. The food itself was good for the most part the soup was watery and lacking flavor the salad was wilted. The hibachi itsself was good and I have no complaints about its quality other then it used to be better. Overall, not awful but not what it used to be. I will be going to other places when I’m in town now.

First time eating here with my boyfriend. We got two sushi rolls and some miso soup. The cost was a bit high, $37 for everything. The sushi was pretty good though! Miso soup was lacking but a nice addition to the dinner. I probably wouldn’t go back there based on amount of food/price but it was a nice little treat. Photo of our dinner attached.

I’ve been here twice in the past week and have ordered the Tuna Tataki twice. It was seared perfectly both times and presented well. The tuna tasted fresh which is not an easy feat in Illinois. One time I ordered sashimi and the other i ordered sushi. All were delicious, tuna is my favorite but they were both done well.
