I was SO excited to eat here as I LOVE Asian fusion. My husband made our reservations online and there was some kind of mix up. We were told we didn’t have a reservation for that evening, but for the next week. We were offered seating along the kitchen. A table would have offered much more privacy and been romantic, but we took the seats available as it’s an hour drive for us, from home. Our server was new, but she did fine. The Mai Thai was great and the karage chicken bao buns were INCREDIBLE!! So incredible that we ordered a second round. My husband had the Miso Cod, which was very good. It could use some acid somewhere in that dish as it was VERY rich. I ordered the NY strip, medium. It came out well. We did have to flag down our server about 10 minutes after receiving our food so I could show her my steak. A manager came over and apologized and said another steak would be out shortly. By the time it got dropped off (20-25 minutes later), I was full from a second Mai Thai and finishing off the bao buns! So I asked for the steak to be boxed up. The manager DID make things right with the steak, which is why I’m still rating KOJO with 4 stars. I will be back to give KOJO another try, but I will call and make reservations.

I will start off with JUST WOW! Amazing atmosphere and some of the most professional and polite staff I have ever experienced in a restaurant. Amazing fully stocked bar than can do just about anything you could ever want along with their own amazing cocktail selection. Seating experience was great as we received our hot jasmine scented steam towels to clean our hands with. Trene and Sadie were just awesome and on top of their game. All the food was spectacular from our Sushi to Bao buns to main courses. I honestly do not think an empty plate sat on our table for longer than a minute before someone walked by to grab them. Do yourself a favor and try this place, I don’t think you’ll regret it. *Few personal notes* I do like spice so my opinion on some of the food may be biased as the Rock Shrimp Bao buns did have some heat as did my Wagyu Noodles, however my wifes Miso Glazed COD was just perfect and light and melted in your mouth. Wagyu NY Strip was amazing and the Sauce it came with I want to bottle and resell! I hope you enjoy this as much as we did and it is on our permanent go to list for Sarasota.

Wow!! This place is tied as the #1 spot in Sarasota hands down. There is no arguing! My waitress was awesome. She introduced herself, the restaurant,and said “one thing about us is when you’re foods ready it’s coming to the table it won’t be sitting around back there getting cold” and she was right. Food came out immediately and it was great. The bao was phenomenal, spicy tuna roll bomb, gyoza bomb, everything was fabulous. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting here. They even have small holders to lift the tips of your chop sticks off the table. Wow what a touch. The napkins were folded looking like a shirt. Sometimes it’s the small things that also really make the experience that much better.

Good food and service, definitely worth a try! Went in with high expectations based on reviews and word of mouth, but not sure it matched what I had hoped for. Majority of the dishes were a bit too spicy for my liking and nothing really blew me away. Overall a good experience but neither the food or service was quite 5 stars for me. Glad I tried it but nothing to make me return.

Delicious food, lovely cocktails and atmosphere made for a great date night experience. They had an interesting varitety of Japanese Whiskies, I had their version of an Old Fashioned and it was great. Highlights of the meal were the Maitake Mushroom Nori Tacos and the Rock Shrimp, Bacon and Kimchee Paella. The Chashu Braised Pork Belly Bao left a bit more to be desired but was tasty. We finished the evening with the Matcha Donut Holes and an espresso martini, both of which were delicious, and I am not a big fan of matcha normally. Overall very good and we will be back.

Pretty darn good. The food was excellent, wicked tasty – great flavors and an excellent presentation. The service was good, if not a little too robotic, I got a thing for table linens, I know it’s outdoor seating, but if I’m gonna have a five star experience that’s what it takes:)
