Kontiki is an amazing restaurant! My husband and I got married on the 1st of January and we really wanted to cater to both of our cultures. It helped that Kontiki has some amazing dishes that all of our friends loved. We had catered Oxtails, Beef Stew, and Jollof Rice!! When I say the food was fresh and piping hot!! The owners accommodated us where they would have normally been closed! To say I’m satisfied is a lie because we were Overly Satisfied!! Thank you guys for making our day special and being professional!

11/10 IF YOU HAVEN’T EATEN HERE DO IT TODAY!! I am so happy I decide to go ahead and finally try African food for the first time. I promise you I was not let down at all. It was absolutely delicious and I was able to try dishes I’d never had before. Great atmosphere inside and as a plus they also have a small area with some international grocery selections. Be expected to spend a little more than you probably normally would ($15-20 person) but you wont get rich and flavorful food like this anywhere else & besides you’re supporting a small business!

Ordered jerk chicken, jollof rice and vegetables. The vegetables were clearly frozen and microwaved. No flavor. The rice was okay. The jerk chicken didn’t taste fresh and kind of tough. I tried the peanut butter stew. The chicken was very bland with no seasoning. Not a great experience especially for the price.

Went with a group of 4 on a Sunday evening, wasn’t very crowded. The menu is small with some daily specials listed on a board inside. We tried the lamb pepper soup, meat skewers, fried plantains, and rice akara for appetizers. For mains we ordered the peanut butter soup, ox tail stew, fufu with okra, and jollof rice with beef stew. The akara and plantains were good, but the meat skewers and pepper soup were amazing. The pepper soup is very spicy, but really well seasoned. All of the mains were really well prepared and full of west African spice. The okra tasted good, but I’m just not a fan of the texture of stewed okra (a bit slipperly/slimy). The atmosphere was really relaxed and comfortable, the service was friendly, and generally a fun place to eat. Try the ginger beer if you really like ginger, it was def stronger than ginger beer I’ve bought from kroger. Will definitely come back

Ate here for the first time yesterday. Really fantastic place with a small, on-point menu of the Best Stuff. Superbly genuine African spices and methods prevail in their cooking, and their meat is delightfully seasoned and home-cooked every time. I can not express how much I recommend this place! Awesome ethnic spot and so refreshing to find!

I really liked the cleanliness of the restaurant & it seemed family friendly. That being said, it was a little sterile. There was no music playing and I expected to feel emerged in an West African type of experience. I had the couscous & chicken. The food had generous portions of couscous and fresh vegetables, but the chicken didn’t seem to be marinated in the sauce (which there wasn’t enough of). The waitress was nice & brought me my water, but never came by my table to refill my drink or to ask how the food was. I hope they expand their menu and add items like chicken yasa, provide Maggi sauce, or popular African deserts. I will definitely give this restaurant another chance and maybe try another dish.

I got the chicken jollof rice. The rice was a bit crunchy (undercooked) and the chicken was a bit hard and dry (which leads me to believe it was quite old), but the flavor was excellent. If my food had been fresh and fully cooked, it would’ve been perfect. This was my first time there, so I’m willing to give them a second chance.

Lady was kinda rude, after standing my grounds. She finally started to conduct herself correctly and professional (very minimum) I was over charged on my hot sauce, by $1.00. Clearly 5.99, my receipt charged 6.99. The food was not so good. I ordered Peanut Butter soap with beef. Only 5 very small pieces of beef!

The Jollof rice & stew was amazing the plantains were amazing the fufu is okay Egusi was okay. The pepper soup was the best of them all the Yam gave it the perfect amount of sweetness. We also tried the ginger beer it is an acquired tasted you might have to sip a few times before you begin to like it.
