Didn’t think I would find authentic Mediterranean food in Knoxville, but KoPita was as authentic and just as good as any big city Mediterranean restaurant I’ve ever been to. Waitstaff was friendly and attentive. Ate out on the balcony, so the traffic can be a little loud, but it’s also great to people watch, and enjoy a fantastic meal. Hummas was on point, and their beef and lamb kabob was excellent. Bravo!!!

Well, this place is legit!! If you’re familiar with a Mediterranean cuisine, especially Israeli dishes / flavors, and you know what to expect, you probably had some disappointments trying different places, but I can tell you that this place is a 100% bliss. All the salads were fresh and correctly seasoned. The falafel is one of the or THE best I ever had! And I had quite a few now – the pita bread… OMG – like a pillow or a cloud – ready to accommodate all that goodness!!! and for the main course – the kebab pita is not to be missed!!! Just go!!

Fresh and flavorful food at really great prices. There are lots of great vegetarian options, but also good meet options as well. The chicken schnitzel meal is an amazing deal at $20. Very nice restaurant with healthy options to be inside a hotel.

I have been to Israel, and I felt the food at KoPita was superior. The spices are perfectly balanced. Every bite is a pleasure. I’ve had the Sampler and the Chicken Shawarma, plus the Dessert Tea and Turkish Coffee. All were fabulous. Would recommend KoPita any day!

Great Mediterranean food. From my personal experience so far, this is the closest experience to actual Israeli restaurants.

Ordered carry out for 4 on Tuesday before Mothers Day for pickup at 5:30 on Saturday. Paid + tip on Tuesday. Called Kopita at 4:30 – they had no record of the order and we needed to reorder. Promised it at 5:30. Nope – we stood there for 25 extra minutes. When we got the order home, we realized it was for 2 – including the salads (see photo) and silverware. Great food, but totally unacceptable service. Hope you fix it, we’d like to come back when we hear you’ve got it right. Good luck.

Chef Avi Zenatti is a welcoming gregarious gastronomic provider, demonstrating a great love of feeding and seeing satisfied customers, much in a way that a Thanksgiving host or hostess would make sure all attendees stomachs’ are happy. His kitchen is run with great care and his employees are very professional and polite. The food was very fresh and the different dishes were all delicious and tasty, nothing was overly seasoned or salted, bringing to the mouth a well balanced bite or sip. The plates going from appetizers, salads, soups, and mains, are gigantic yet the dollar paid per course is relatively low considering the amount of food in each dish. The only uncertainty, and a less than perfect four star review, was that soft drinks were unavailable. Drinks were somewhat of a confusing observation during the experience. Simor, the table attendant, explained that Monday through Thursday, only water, iced mint tea, or hot Moroccan Mint Tea was available, but on the weekends, the bar was open providing alcohol and the usual soft drinks. The details revealed were that a separate management had operational control of the bar. Yet, what was observed while dining was Avi conversing with another male coworker sitting at the bar, while the male coworker was sipping a customary frothy beverage from a proper challis. Unless the beverage was a wintery wheat colored kombucha, the normal foodie would say that was a beer. The problem is, if the bar is run by separate management inside of a restaurant with different management, and both are inside a hotel with a completely detached corporate structure, an alcohol citation could be issued to the restaurant, if customers are still dining. In this example, this was the case. I suggest streamlining the hotel, bar, restaurant agreement or communication, and policy, to avoid a potential legal fine and citation from the City of Knoxville Alcohol Board governing establishments that serve food, alcohol, and provide overnight lodging.
