The steak was perfect medium rare. Im guessing it was a sous vide reverse sear because it was not “juicy” but still great beef flavor, lean, and seasoned well. My partner enjoyed the crab cakes, but i thought they were a bit dry, over cooked. But i prefer broiled over sauted, so this may be why. The mashed potatoes under the cakes were creamy delicious, with the juillien cut veg a good crisp compliment. The bread, perhaps sour dough, was fresh and good texture. Needed salt. The wedge salad…addicting. House salad is unimpressive but had a good poppy seed dressing. The highlight (and im so not a dessert person) was the strawberry cheesecake. The blueberry was tasty, too, but strawberry was a clear winner. Overall, good food, very good service, comfortable dark atmosphere…but not worth the price tag.

What a delicious surprise! The restaurant is family run, and they make sure everything is top-notch. The food is good! Some of their specials and appetizers and the frozen cheesecake dessert are so unique and delicious. They have a selection of fresh oysters that those at the table ate them were blown away. So fresh and so good. The kunkel spicy shrimp was delicious. As it’s described on the menu is exactly how it tastes. Not too hot when you eat it but that lingering heat just grows. And not in a bad way. The steaks were all done to perfection, the fra Diablo sauce on the pasta was delicious, the table was silent when the food was delivered because everyone was eating lol. The desserts were all delicious as well, especially their frozen cheesecake ice cream dessert. They had numerous flavors of cheesecake and it’s like they put it in an ice cream machine and serve it to you. So velvety smooth and delicious. Make sure you save room after dinner. And the top it off the service was outstanding. And the top that off, it’s BYOB!

Went for lunch. First, this is a byob, and it wasn’t readily apparent on the website. The food here Is not good. I had the beef, and it was dry and tough. My friend had the crab cake, and it was all filler. Small portions of poor quality food. The atmosphere reminds me of a nursing home dining hall. Instead of attacking poor reviews, why not correct the issues? Most of the poor reviews are about the same things.

Rare gem. You’d figure great restaurants like this in small towns only exist in movies. The menu variety, especially with the oysters on the half was superb. The atmosphere was comfy and the owner was very attentive. Highly recommend if you’re in the area. It’s fine dining so be prepared to spend some $.

Came in without an appointment this morning to talk about holding a small wedding. The owner Carol was the nicest most welcoming woman. After sitting down and going over some menu options we decided to stay for lunch and were not disappointed! We visited about six venues but knew this is where we wanted our invent! The food was delicious, our server was great and the attentive owner was so kind not only to us but all her patrons. She seemed to know everyone on first name basis and we knew without a doubt this is where we wanted our day to be held so needless to say we booked instantly!!!

Sunday EMT
We went for Burger Night and my wife being dairy free asked to hold the cheese. The server said she would need to ring it as a build your own and charge us extra for the bacon which would have been more than the item you can get on the Burger Night menu. We asked to just hold the cheese and she said the computer won’t let her. My wife tried to explain that it would cost more and the server just didn’t get the math. So I asked to speak to the Manager and she said she was a like a senior server, which I thought was cute but I asked for the owner. The owner came and with an attitude said she would take care of us but the mood was already broken so we walked up and left. I’ll never look back. SEE YA!

This was our first visit to Kunkel’s but it won’t be our last. Although I’ve passed by numerous times, I never gave much notice before Kunkel’s popped up on my social media. I looked up the menu and decided to give it a try. We happened to have plans nearby, so Saturday night it made a great meeting spot. We started by sharing the Stuffed Mushrooms which was a large Portobello cooked in wine and overflowing with a glorious stuffing of cheeses, sausage and creamy brandy sauce. It was more than three of us could finish. We all had seafood dishes. My crab cakes were perfectly delicious. They were served on a generous bed of piped mashed potatoes and julienne squashes with carrots. The crab cakes are a must for anyone who is looking for the perfect crab cake. The other diners had the Red Snapper and Lobster Ravioli. I dipped my potatoes in the Ravioli sauce and can attest to it’s delicious flavor. The Red Snapper was reported to be even better than a taste of my Crab Cakes but I did not challenge her evaluation as I was perfectly happy with my entree. We were too stuffed to try dessert. We heard diners at a nearby table praising the sauce for the mussels, so I know what I want to try next visit. BYOB makes the bill lower than the competition. My only regret is to have waited too long for my first visit. Can’t wait to go back very soon.

Dinner was outstanding. Service the same. I would mention the oysters that you get to choose from is excellent. The quality also excellent. The cheesecake freezes need to have a special call out. I had the banana foster freeze. Decadent!! Pricing was on point certainly a value considering the fine quality.

Great service, Great food! Can’t wait to return! it was very warm when we walked in, however the manager addressed it immediately. They close early, 9pm, but they did not make us feel rushed when we over extended ourselves by 30 min.
