Been here plenty. Always left satisfied. Tried something new tonight. Coconut roll. Called Coco Island Roll. Fried so hard it was almost like hard candied in texture. Not happy at all. Voiced my dislike to the manager. He was defensive and pointed out we had 4 of the 8 pieces. I had 3. Hoping it would get better. Gave a fourth to my friend, also said it was distasteful to eat. All the manager kept saying was, that’s how it is. You almost ate it all anyway. Well. I TRIED. Wasn’t happy with it. But zero effort to try to make it right. Going to skip this place for a while. Wasn’t busy. Maybe 3 small groups. He should have at least attempted to do something to remedy the situation.

If you want to get the worse sushi experience you should visit this place. The service is awful. You should wait for hours to get your order. Waitresses do not know how to talk. I am very patient but the last visit killed me. My niece had a birthday and my brother invited me for the dinner to this place. We came 4 adults and 4 kids. The restaurant was empty. We wanted to sit at the hibachi table but they refused to sit us there because we were going to order 4 hibachi and sushi. They said at least 6. We tried to argue that kids are not eating hibachi and we were going to order sushi for them. But they did not listen. So they lost clients.

So sad with how downhill it got, haven’t been in a year cus I moved so I was so excited to come back. The food turnover is faster than a fast food line and in that 2 items never came out. Still charged for one and had to get that taken care of. You have to flag someone down each time for anything. I would have happily waited if they were that busy in their station versus being sat in chaos. Gonna miss the old Kyoto so much 🙁

Excellent experience at Kyoto Sushi. It’s possible that we were at the restaurant off peak hours, but service was excellent and prompt. Some food is a bit spicy, but you may ask not to add spicy mayo to avoid hot/spicy dishes.
