Holy smokes you guys, if you order the lunch fajitas be aware that you will be served a children’s portion. Some buddies and I visited today and my $12 got me approximately six bites of extremely average Mexican food. I have never had a bad time at this establishment until today and I’m not sure if I will ever be back. There are baby food jars larger than the steak I ate for lunch today. Fascinating how poor my experience was because of it.

Every time I go to Ruston I try to eat there either for lunch or dinner which is once every couple of years. La Bamba’s is great and the food is excellent. The staff is friendly and very attentive! We enjoyed our lunch yesterday immensely!

We had 5 people with us-two separate couples and another kid that ordered food. But because we had two babies with us, we were charged gratuity. Tipping isn’t the issue, but she was definitely not going to get that much. She never refilled any drinks and the whole night she stayed at the bar. We tried getting her attention for our check because we had been waiting awhile but she was talking at the bar.

I did not get our waiters name but he was great. From our grandchildren to our grown children to us seniors. There were 6 of us. All wanting different stuff but our waiter was right on top of it. He knew who each plate went to. The food was great and had plenty to carry some home. Kept us in chips and salsa. The only thing we did not like was that they were out of fried ice cream. Actually out of any ice cream. The grandkids were looking forward to that after eating their dinner. But we won’t fault them for being out of something. Overall we had a great time and enjoyed everything!

Some drink specials ($6 flavored margs, love the raspberry), creamy buttery queso blanco (very good), tangy salsa without too many onion chunks (sometimes too spicy), & yummy queso flameado = fajita meat w/ grilled onions & bell peppers. Went at 545pm & service was fast. Haven’t had bad service here yet. Food prices are fair. Don Juan quesadilla is top notch.
