We’re La Bendición, and we’ve been a Salvadorian restaurant here in Coralville, IA, since 2020. We specialize in pupusas, and we offer fried chicken, fried fish, and more. We started this business because the local area needed a restaurant that serves Salvadorian food and we plan on expanding our restaurants to other locations in Iowa. We’re looking forward to partnering with Coralville, Iowa City, and surrounding area consumers to continue to offer a premier Salvadorian restaurant experience. We’d like to personally invite you to stop by for one of our pupusas, today!

There aren’t very many places in the Iowa City area to get pupusas. This place hit the spot! I also enjoyed the fried plantains A LOT.

My new favorite lunch spot in the area! This was my first time trying Salvadorian cuisine. I got the fried plantains, zucchini pupusa, & frijol pupusa. All was incredible and delicious. Service was also fast and waitress was kind. Super affordable as well. Loved everything so much, highly recommend trying! Will be returning soon!

Authentic Salvadorian food, at such a great price that we can all that our little hearts desire, with sodas for around $25-30. Typical order is 2 papusas each and an order of yuca.

I’m updating my review! Second time I went this year and this place just went down hill. Pupusas are the size for a child (waffle size) , no taste and so dry. I also, got the carne asada main dish and I got not even a big piece of meat, mostly more rice , beans and salad. Disappointed!!

La Bendición is my new favorite restaurant! The food is absolutely amazing, and the portions are large. You can tell the food is homemade. I love being able to eat food from El Salvador and experience their culture at the same time. Muchas gracias por la comida! Es muy rica!

Highly recommend the fried plantains. We had three different pupusas, revuelta (pork), carrot and spinach. All were excellent as was the shrimp platter.

Great experience, amazing food and great customer service. A nice open area with nice seating and calming music playing. I loved how fast they made the food and how quality it was. Staff are very respectful and professional. I liked how they weren’t coming up to us every two minutes asking if we need something like most dine-in restaurants. Very cheap and they have many traditional dishes that they make very well. You could hear them in the back making the pupusas fresh. Overall great experience of their cultures food and I’d love to go back.
