The service is just the absolute worst which is so disappointing because I live down the block from this location. The food had no flavor from what we did try to eat. They forgot two items. My friend who I picked up the food with is also pregnant and she called to find out if the cheese was pasteurized and was given such an attitude for asking a health related question that we just hung up and ordered from another local Italian place.

Service was a bit slow, our appetizer came out after our meal which was a little strange. Lobster ravioli was very delicious, cooked just right & was served hot with a nice vodka sauce. I would definitely recommend it.

I ordered food from this location 3.5 hours ago, and NEVER RECEIVED IT. They claimed they called me multiple times. When I told them I never received their calls, and confirmed they had the right number they told me they would “remake it and have the driver send it over”, That obviously didn’t happen either. I waited for their food for so long. I usually have pleasant interactions at their chains, but this place has horrible customer service. If I could give less than one star I would. Absolutely atrocious handling of the situation. It was my first time ordering from here and its going to be my last.

I’ve eaten here for 15 years and lately they’ve been closing and ignoring the phone 30+ minutes before closing time. As good as the place is, when you’re calling for a 10 minute order and being ignored it really starts to grind the gears. Fix the damn closing time if you want to ignore calls before close !

I’ve eaten La Bottega before at other locations. They are all very inconsistent with the portions. At this Merrick location, I ordered the Di Rosa salad, they charge you an extra $2.50 for avocado. When I went to pick up my food, I realized I barely had any avocado. I asked them how much avocado they put in the salad for $2.50, they said 1/4. To charge someone $2.50 for a quarter of an avocado (and I promise you, it’s non existent) I’d rather bring my own avocado from home than to spend the $2.50 on a sliver of an avocado. Definitely do not waste your time on the extras & get those “extras” from home. I understand mark ups in the restaurant industry, but at the very least give me a good amount of avocado for $2.50. I’m given nothing. I just threw away $2.50. Never putting extras anymore in the salad.

I love it here! My husband and I go every Tuesday! It’s not possible for you not to find something on the menu that you like. I love salads and they have every salad imaginable. I usually get the beet salad. Beets and lettuce and corn and walnuts and goat cheese. I might have missed something but it is amazing! Love going. Love my favorite waitress and love the owner! Definitely a must on your repertoire!

Great customer service and amazing food. I called to see if they delivered to me. The girl on the phone said they normally don’t deliver to my town but asked me for my address and to hold for a second. She got back on and said it’s not that far we can do it for you. Very grateful for small businesses like this that go out of their way to make their customers happy. Will definitely continue ordering and picking up from here.
