We just ate here and the waitress/ proprietor? was indeed no nonsense but not rude. The atmosphere was fine. We loved the traditional music. The handwritten signs are a lot; but we figured they were there for good reason! The tamarind margarita was good. Most of all, our rajas with shrimp & beef dish included beans, sour cream, guacamole, fresh salsa, really fresh corn or flour tortillas and an absolutely delicious sauce. It was excellent and a huge portion. The restaurant was not crowded on a Monday night; but it is small, so I could see someone not being able to be seated right away.

Good food especially for such a small town. We were only two of four customers in the restaurant and it took us 45 minutes to get our food because they misplaced our ticket. Food was a great portion after hiking all day. Came with rice, beans, and chips and salsa while waiting.

Very, Very, Very bad experience. To start off with we came in with party of 8. Called ahead and they didn’t take reservations, I understand that. When we get there, there was 2 customers seated. We asked this big gentleman if we could move the 2 tables that seat 2 people together for 4 of our 8 people and he said ” no you can’t because they will fall apart, so they can’t be moved” they didn’t even try to fit our part of 8 together. So we sat at the opposite end of the room. Everywhere you looked there were NEGATIVE SIGNS!!!! from the time we got there he acted like he wanted to kick us out and close the door. With that kind of person there you better go strictly take out, because your staff is in the wrong business. I sure hope this guy is NOT the owner!!!!! You Really need realize the customers are not your enemies. And we pay your bills, and feed your familes.

I always crave Mexican after a day of hiking. This place hit the spot. The fajitas were large and great for sharing. The esquites was delicious. I agree that the refried beans were not flavorful. Our food came out quickly. We had no issues with the service like other reviews mentioned.

Food was tasty and fresh. Service , on the other hand, was less than mediocre. The female waitress was very abrupt, could not possibly turn down the very loud music. We requested to move tables( 4 of us) as we were under the music. One other patron in the main restaurant and we could not move tables to a quieter part of the room as that table had 6 seats. The table was not used while we ate. The meal was ruined by the attitude of the staff, and the lack of respect to customers. We will not be back. One star, as Google won’t let me rate less.

The TV was blaring. Couldn’t hear my friends or the waitress. Big sign that says “we will not turn the music down” bathroom was ick. Garbage hasn’t been taken out in awhile looks like. Food portions was huge but left much to be desired. No option to tip what you want to as well, auto 20% gratuity so be prepared for that if your on a budget.

Ate here once when they first opened and the food was awful. Some friends wanted to go Friday night so we agreed to try it again. We had a party of 8 who always spend a fair amount on food and adult beverages. The place was completely EMPTY inside but they refused to help figure out a way to seat us all together. Terrible customer service – now I remember why I didn’t like it in the first place.
