Anytime my cousin and I break for lunch in Troy, there’s only one place on our minds: La Capital Tacos. This gem of a taco joint has won us over time and time again with its authentic fare, friendly staff, and laid-back ambiance. As self-proclaimed “hillbillies” from upstate NY, we may not have aced Spanish in school, but we’ve certainly mastered our order at this little slice of Mexican heaven.

This is my first time going to a more Hipster Taco Spot. Its very hipster and you can tell by the prices. I ordered 2 horchatas and 1 order of quesa birria tacos and 1 order of tacos de carnitas. Total was 36$. The food we got was good , I for sure thought I was going to get some super american tacos. I almost did not order but gracias a los cosineros la comida tenía buen sabor especialmente el consume de la birria.

Absolutely amazing authentic tacos! My friend and I stopped for lunch and had the most wonderful experience. We ordered a couple of different tacos to share from the friendly cashier and headed outside with our drinks to dine inside an igloo. We decided to try the carnitas and the al pastor tacos con todos and the birria tacos with consomé. The tacos came incredibly fast and were delicious. Everything was so fresh! I had the horchata and my friend tried the Jamaica water. The horchata was delightfully creamy and refreshing with hints of cinnamon and vanilla. The Jamaica water was pleasantly sweet and tart. Eating outside in a warm igloo on a cold winters day was a novelty worth repeating. I highly recommend, go today!!

There’s a little outdoor patio which was so great. There were igloos too so if it was cold it wouldn’t be a problem either. If you don’t get the horchata, you’re missing out. And not surprisingly, the tacos were amazing!

I used to eat here. Until I was waiting for the bus and an employee thought it was a good idea to dump out a bucket full of toxic chemicals at me because that’s where they put it every day after they are done cleaning. After saying something to them about how they dumped chemicals at me, I was confronted by someone in a polo that was very rude and threaten to call the police on me If you ever at the bus stop outside of the place , and you wonder why it smells so bad turn around there’s chemicals on the ground I would not recommend eating here.

Authentic, fresh, and delicious. Birra was really awesome. Burrito was made with delicious Al pastor. Food came out quickly and the outdoor seating area was lovely. My only complaint is for the price the burrito could of been 2 times the size. Not a legit complaint, but I like my burritos to absolutely put me to sleep like the warm embrace from Mom.

Birria Tacos were authentic and delicious. The tacos were a bug and had alot of flavor. The Consomé was very rich and not salty. Great flavor. Got a Fanta and Jarrito to wash it down. Recommend this place to anyone who loves tacos.
