Very authentic Mexican restaurant specializing in the popular dishes of Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. The famous ‘Torta Ahogada’ is on the menu, the crown jewel of the Tapatios. The sauce is not as spicy as the sauce of the tortas ahogadas of Guadalajara, and the bread is not the same due to Green Bay’s much lower elevation and stronger humidity, but they make due with what they got and make an incredible product. Their sauce is unique, pork tender, and bread soft. Salsa is outstanding, chips have a real corn flavor, and guacamole very rich. Estrella Jalisco beer available, as well as mixed drinks from Jalisco. Birria tacos of the California style have great flavor and should be tried also. Service very welcoming and genuine. El Carreta is Guadalajara without having to go all the way to Guadalajara.

I haven’t had tacos this good in a LONG time! They were delicious and very reasonably priced. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was very cozy. I will definitely be back. I want to try the rest of their menu items.

I tried the quesabirria tacos and it was good but the meat itself didn’t have any flavor. The tacos were bigger than I expected they would be so you definitely get your money’s worth though. Their arroz was amazing and had so much flavor! The rest of their menu looks promising so I would love to come back to try more for 5 stars. Friendly staff and quick service.

I order the four quesabirria tacos with a cup of beef broth and boy did they hit the spot! I would say the beef itself lacked flavor but the broth, cilantro/onion, and salsa just makes it explode with flavor! Would love to come back and try other menu items to see if it was just the one time I tried it.

This place is quickly becoming one of my favorite places to eat in Green Bay. Hooked on the quesabirrias. Staff is always upbeat and friendly. Cooks are quick and usually only takes a few minutes for them to fill my order. Great value.
