This place was great. We found it in Google and it didn’t disappoint. The owner was the nicest person… This place made the best arroz con gandules of my life. (We owned a restaurant in the past) We got the tray sampler plater. Ya, everything from Mofongo, chuletas, empanadas, and tripleta sandwiches. Great food….

My son and fiancé haven’t really tried Puerto Rican food like I have. So I placed an order in advance for a bunch of different things for us to all eat today for dinner. All day I was excited to get out of work and go pick up my food and let me tell you it was amazing! Jennifer’s food is always fantastic, I can honestly say I have not had 1 bad thing from her place! The flavor and authenticity is a 10/10 for this place and her pricing is good especially for the amount of food you get.

I found out about this place right before i moved last year. I’ve been here a few times since then and the food is amazing and when I did speak to the lady in person she was always so nice . But today was my last time. Everytime I come here there is some type of communication issue. This time I called because I drove 2 hrs to get her food and I just wanted to verify she’d be open and she said “yes until about 5.” I ordered as I was 20 mins out and got here at 4:08. She has a break sign up which is no issue I call the number on the sign no answer, I wait 10 mins and check, no answer , I call several times to both numbers and she screens the call. Like what is going on? Social media isn’t updated either which she says to use because she sells out but I called either way. I will have to take my L on this food and find somewhere else that can effectively communicate because how do you screen a customer on 2 diff numbers that ordered ahead of time and was there with plenty of time before you closed. If you were going to close early just say that tbh and that would have been better than wasting my time because now it’s almost 5pm. SMH

Amazing food, owner is very personable and takes time to go through the menu if you do not know what to get. Will definitely be going on the regular in the future, wish I would’ve known about this place sooner! Cannot wait to try everything on the menu because everything has been so delicious. Must try if you are in the area and worth the trip if you are further away. Not many places have authentic Puerto Rican food that is this flavorful!

Picked up a DoorDash order and the young lady gave me an empanada to try as it was a new one she was thinking about. I didn’t know this place existed, but after that first bite I raced to Google reviews as promised! Your food and attitude are infectious, keep up the good work!

Wife and I HIGHLY recommend the jabiritos sandwich. It is made with smashed plantains, instead of bread. Better tasting and better for you. We have NEVER been disappointed. And the garlic sauce on them is out of this world.

Are you tired of getting disrespected by businesses? Are you tired of going out to eat and the employees of the restaurant seem like they don’t want to be at work? Do you want amazing food that is also inexpensive? If you answered yes to all three questions then head on over to LA Casa Boricua in loves park! The owner Jenny is a free spirit that will invite you into her restaurant with enthusiasm. She loves going to her restaurant everyday to share her culture with anyone that’s willing to try her food. I personally have traveled over an hour to see her as I reside in Wisconsin. Sure there are great restaurants in Wisconsin but none compare to that of La Casa Boricua. If I still didn’t convince you to go meet Jenny and try her Cuisine then I’m sorry to inform you that you are truly missing out!

Not very pleased. All of the Puerto Rican joints in Rockford suck period… Rice is semi mushy, not seasoned or salted well. Fritters are a bit overfried as if it were fried in xtra hot oil. The only good thing is the meat… nice & tender & adequately seasoned. Jibaritos are small af, a plate of it cost $15 on doordash def not worth it….
