This is a wonderful place to eat. It is cash only, the only con, because most people don’t carry cash. The prices are very reasonable and the portion size is big. The service is great. The waitstaff is very attentive. We were seated, got our drink orders (tea), looked at the menu and ordered within 10 minutes of getting there. Our food was delivered to us in less than 10 minutes. I’m from a bigger city and not used to getting my food from a sit down restaurant that quickly. The food looked, smelled and tasted divine!!! The atmosphere was very pleasant. They have a TV on the wall and it was on a game show channel. The volume was low, but you could read the captions. I will definitely be a repeat customer.

THIS Is real Tex-Mex! If I could give it seven stars, I would! The food was simply incredible. I had the Mexican dinner with beef enchiladas and half-and-half iced tea. I was surprised that they didn’t take credit cards, I have not used money in forever. But, it doesn’t seem to slow their business down any, the place was packed when I arrived and packed when I left. If you pass through Alpine Texas, you owe it to yourself to stop.

La Casita is a classic, small-town Tex Mex restaurant. Nobody comes here for health food; this is the place to get well-made, deliciously greasy enchiladas, a combo plate, or tacos. Service is a little slow due to understaffing, but the staff are doing their best. A little bit of patience & kindness will go a long way.

Great food and very friendly service. I had the chicken fried steak and my wife had the Mexican enchilada plate, very good. We were not aware they take cash only, we had to drive around town to find a ATM, other than that it was awesome. Next time you are in Alpine, Texas go and eat at La Casita, it is owned by Mr. Ramos, you will enjoy the food and even the customers there are very friendly as are the people of Alpine.

We went to tour the Sul Ross campus and stopped to try out this restaurant we heard about. I tried the flautas my niece had and they were delicious! I ordered the green cheese enchiladas, but was given chicken. I switched with my son who got the red cheese enchiladas. I’m just not a fan of chicken enchiladas.

Food was ok the queso con puesto was over salted. The staff for whatever reason didn’t want to help our table out they kept going around to all the other tables. When I requested to have the queso plate swapped with another plate because it was way to salty the waitress made a face. Also be advised that cash or check is only accepted here!

I just came on here to say I was served DeliMex frozen flautas advertised as “Beef Falutas”. Waitress also seemed annoyed with us asking for ice for our drinks that didn’t have much ice. Overall attitude and service was poor.
