We went out to eat here for the first time on Mother’s Day, had a wonderful experience. All the staff were very friendly & welcoming. The restaurant was very clean. The food portions were very large and decently priced, great quality food. Not to mention it was decorated so beautifully and right by the beach. Definitely recommend this place check them out!!!

Shout out to our server Veronica, so so kind throughout our time there. This was our second time visiting the dining area. Same excellent experience as the first. We ordered Aguachile, Guacamole (spicy), Ceasar Salad, Grilled Steak, Grilled Chicken and Chicken Tenders. For drinks we ordered Coca-Cola, Classic Margarita on Rocks and Modelo.

Easily the best Mexican food in west haven. They start you with homemade tortilla chips and a black bean salsa. We the got the nachos (no scallions)for an appetizer and they were the best nachos I’ve had in a long time (Take that margaritaville). My buddy got the birria tacos which were ok but if I want birria, I’ll go to mr taco in Meriden. I got a chicken and steak burrito (surprise) and it was fantastic. Best burrito I’ve had in a long time and it comes with a salad or French fries. I don’t know if I’ve ever gotten a burrito anywhere that came with a side dish. The meats in the burrito were flavored so well that the juices would pool at the bottom of the tortilla making for the most flavorful bites of the whole meal AND they did the tortilla so well that even with all those juices pooling, there was absolutely no breaks in the tortilla itself. Their red sauce is also very delicious and has a nice kick to it. Highly, highly recommended.

We stopped in for dinner on a recommendation from our son who recently dined here…we were so glad we did! We had the fried calamari which was cooked to perfection!!! The steak fajitas were so flavorful and plentiful. We will be back for sure! Great job chef! The service was also stellar ⭐️✨

11/4/22. La Catrina hits it out of the park again! This place never fails to deliver a good meal at a decent price. I had a seafood soup.. LOADED with shrimp, mussels, clams calamari and octopus. Soup had some heat to it, although I did spice it up more with supplied red pepper flakes.. OUTSTANDING! CLEAN AND FRESH! Wife had her usual.. shrimp fajitas. Again, excellent.

Seemed like my waitress had never eaten in a restaurant, let alone waited in one. The service was incompetent. We were sat right next to another party with a restaurant full of empty seats. Waitress berated me to order drinks while my friend was in the bathroom. Would not leave when I asked her to give us a minute to decide on our order. The music was too loud, couldn’t hear the waitress speak. The chicken tasted like it was boiled out of a frozen bag from the grocery store. The fries were most definitely crinkle cuts from the grocery store. I don’t know why a mexican restaurant would serve crinkle cut fries anyway. The food was overpriced. The waitress forgot to bring us our bill.

$2 Taco Monday brought me in my friend into the bar area this week. Enjoyed the friendly atmosphere, beautiful presentation, a great margarita, and was surprised by this gorgeous cup of coffee. Meet a friend for coffee or margarita here and feel special. I recommend the chicken burrito.
