La Folie is located in a downtown luxury apartment building. It has a nice patio when the weather is nice. We had the French Onion soup for our starter, which was superb – very delicious. A warm mini baguette and butter was provided and was wonderful. I had the Veal Oscar and my husband had a special – a bone-in veal chop in a mushroom reduction. The veal Oscar was good but béarnaise sauce was under salted IMHO. The asparagus and mashed potatoes were excellent. My husband’s dish was truly amazing. Veal was tender and mushroom reduction was to die for. This was an expensive meal so I was disappointed with my dish. But everything else was wonderful. Service was excellent. Presentation was beautiful. I will definitely be back but select something different for my entree.

This restaurant is one of Lexington’s finest in my opinion. All of the food was exceptional, the service was great, and the atmosphere was luxurious. I would recommend this in a list of top 5 restaurants in Lexington to anyone. Great place, I will definitely be coming back!

The food was delicious and cooked perfectly. I would describe it as no frills comfort food. The portion sizes are huge. The staff was kind and attentive. The drinks were perfect. The atmosphere is an upgrade from the red decor years ago.

The food was decent, but underwhelming considering the prices. The service was SEVERELY lacking. The waiter had literally already boxed my leftovers when the last of our party’s main entree came out. He had a poor attitude and was expressively upset that we asked to have separate checks, even though we informed him when we were seated that checks would be separate. He said “this is very inconvenient and time consuming” as he was taking payment at the end of the meal. I ordered a bottle of wine and 4 of my friends ordered a glass each of the same wine. The waiter poured their glasses from my bottle! I thought he misunderstood and thought I had ordered a glass as well, and expected I would be charged by the glass – nope! I was charged for the full bottle. I’m kind of astounded by the entire experience. I can say with confidence that I will not dine there again.

My wife and I with another couple went there for a Sunday brunch on March 5th 2023. We got there as soon they open so they were not busy at all.

I love the atmosphere and the waitstaff is all great. My family and I were all thrilled to see Franc! A fantastic place for special occasions. Plus, they have a phenomenal brunch (well priced and bottomless drinks)!

I very much looked forward to dining at La Folie and was greatly disappointed. We were sat in the bar area next to a huge tv, the tables were half booth, half chair with the booth so deep that you were unable to seat comfortably. The table was set for 4 (we were party of 2) and none of the settings on the table nor the oversized pillows were moved for us. It was very cluttered and not fitting for an “upscale, French restaurant”.

We were thrilled with the meal we had there. After reading some not so good reviews we didn’t know what to expect. Great drinks and atmosphere. Well lit. I had the filet and was cooked to perfection and the juiciest steak I’ve had in Lexington. We also had the calimari along with some other appetizers. We will be back.
