We stopped in on a whim while driving through on it easy back to Colorado. Definitely worth stopping! The red chili is amazing I feel it’s better than anything I got in Santa Fe. Great food and service. The Chile en nogada was amazing also. There was also someone playing Spanish guitar there which made the atmosphere just amazing.

Classy and classic New Mexican style and food. Ate the gorditas (blue corn) and Las quesabirrias. Both were amazing! Definitely eat their homemade chips too!!! Love the trees inside and the stellar service was warm, like the chile.

This is a neat place, dinning area is outdoors but like it’s inclosed patio feel with beautiful Southwestern decor. If you want chips & salsa you have to order it (not complimentary). The chips were crisp and the salsa was like Picante but homemade.

We felt like we were back in Mexico when we stepped through the entrance. This restaurant has several large eating areas that are each, very different than the other. We particularly liked the trees that grace some of the rooms and the wait staff are engaging and most helpful if one needs some help ordering. The menu is extensive and the food is unbelievably out of this world. If only we didn’t live closer because we would be eating their daily. We’re thrilled that we came upon La Fonda by accident. Now we know where to eat whenever visiting Espanola. What a treasure!
