Let’s start with the food. It definitely reminded me of PR and was very flavorful. The service was great and the atmosphere was cozy, it even had domino tables! My recommendation would be to play different variety of latin music, my experience was all Juan Luis Guerra so the music made it less interesting. Also, add more decorations that represent Puerto Rico I saw great opportunities to make this place shine. Highly recommend you stop by and try them out!

This is a great place to get some good food. We got the fried pork and they were perfectly fried. The beans were fantastic! The plantains were traditionally prepared and the rice was very standard fair. We will be eating here again as the food was great!

La Garita restaurant is really a great experience. Service is excellent and the food delicious. This Puerto Rican culinary wonder will worth your visit if you are in the Killeen area. And if you are hungry, you get plenty for your money. The Mofongo, Puerto Rican style rice and beans and all the entrees are authentic Puerto Rican flavor. I felt I was visiting my grandmother back in Puerto Rico, it took me back to my roots. I definitely recommend this restaurant 100%.

Music just like home and food on point just like being in the island. Server very friendly and attentive. Price worth the food but ain’t that expensive either. My Hispanics/Latinos friends this business location is right out Vanessa gate 8 min more or less.

Ordered food online through Uber eats and the first two times we had this place it was so good but my God this food went down hill. My skirt steak was dry and over down. The arroz gondules was also dry and not flavorful. We normally order the pork pernil but it wasn’t even on the menu. It was a waste of money. So disappointed.

I’m often nostalgic for food from the island. I may know how to cook some dishes but never as good as mom. My hope when I find a Puerto Rican restaurant is that good food memory. This place delivered. The fried fish (red snapper) was delicious. So few places fry it whole! The mofongo was yum. It went well with the mayo ketchup. The arroz con gandules was the only thing mom does way better, but they still did a tasty version. The alcapurria was so good. And the burrito was for my husband, who was surprised by the sauce though I wasn’t. They use a criollo-style sauce which he didn’t expect. My tastebuds, however, thought it tasted like home.
