We went in with some friends, we’re seated, no one came to our table for 20mins. People who were sat at the table beside us (who came in after) were waited on and received food and beverages before us. Took a good amount of time for us to get our drinks and had to ask 2 people for straws. Food was okay, but I will not be going back. Then they automatically added 17$ tip to our check for a table of 5, that was split up to 3 and 2 (I understand they typically do that for tables of 6 adults or more, and we had a child with us, we were not informed about the service charge and there is nothing posted about it anywhere. I have been multiple times with large groups and never encountered it before), the items on the check were also priced differently than on the menu itself because we requested itemized receipts. Service was awful.

Consistent high quality food. I have never had bad food here. I saw a Mexican drywall crew coming for lunch. If I’ve learned anything in 25 yrs construction is that, if Mexicans are eating there it so good. Gordo burrito is the best. See photo

I will only rate this place a 1 star because when we got our bill it had a service charge on it. Therefore the restaurant screwed the waitress out of a tip. Because if I’m charged a service charge I will not tip. I won’t be back here either!

Finally, a meal I can give a GOOD review about. LaHacienda serves Chimichangas the way I like them – with lots of lettuce. I always top mine (fried) with sour cream and salsa. Americanized? You bet. But it’s how I like it. Service was good and the place was quieter than usual, so I got there on the right day at the right time: Thursday at 5. I’ll be visiting again – more than I can say for a dozen of my used-to-be usual haunts.
