Finally leaving a review after dining at La Lucha at least once a month. Had a group of 8 and service was great. Everything was delicious as usual except for my kids’ food.

The oysters were really good. And the dumplings!! It was spicy and flavorful! The fish was great too. The shrimp could’ve used a bit more seasoning, but it was cooked well. The Margarita w/ tajin was really good and had a smoky flavor. Will be back to try the fried chicken. It looked amazing!!

On last week, I visited LaLucha, a quaint little restaurant located in the heart of the Heights. The ambiance was very nice and the decor was aesthetically elegant. For starters, I ordered the deviled eggs a favorite of mine at any restaurant and for my entree, the wood roasted fish of the moment. The fish was a very pleasant surprise to my taste buds smoked to utter perfection and was unlike any other fish I’d ever tasted, two thumbs up for me. However when my husband received his order of fried chicken, it was just okay, nothing to write home to anyone about. I’m personally not a fried chicken person and haven’t had it in years and when I tasted it, it was just okay, nothing spectacular about it. Our waitress was also super busy swamped with big parties and my husband I both agreed that we didn’t get the attention we deserved.

Very cute, cozy and beautifully decorated. You walk in and greeted by a pleasant host clean and tended to restrooms and a just big enough patio and bar area. We came in around noon on Sunday for brunch and we walked right in and were seated and they do encourage to make reservations during busy hours. We ordered for starters deviled eggs and they were on point. Ordered roasted oysters half Jalapeño and half Parmesan. Half fried chicken and biscuits which was Devine and a waffle on the side was amaze. We also shared the Brussels sprouts which to me were similar to Mexican roasted corn and we added the fried Gulf shrimp. Everything was delicious and will be back!! Thank you Sam our waiter.

First time and came for happy hour for oysters. I enjoy there are different types of oysters you can order, most places in Houston do not have that option, try different types and see what you like! The only drink option was a beer, it was good, and got some fries which were great! Service was exceptional and thankful for some hot water to warm up a baby bottle. Ready to visit again.

Overall great place with good food. I felt the steak was overcooked on outside but nice on the inside. Enjoyed hanging out at the bar!

Service is great. Wait time was 45 minutes so we chose to eat outside. It’s currently 2:22 right now. Our servers are constantly checking in on us which was fantastic. Definitely would come back!
