The hostess was extremely nice. I liked her a lot. The bar staff were friendly too. The chips were real good, but the food was just ok. No complaints, but wasn’t anything I was thrilled about. I would eat there again to give it another chance.

The Birria taco and Mexican street corn were fantastic. I also was super impressed with their chips and queso. Albany is fortunate to have a place like this. Their menu has more unique flavors that include more South American twists.

The food was ok. We had beef loaded fries, al pastor taco, spicy shrimp and steak street taco (all flour)…. I personally pass on everything except for the spicy shrimp which was simply amazing! The service (Margaret and Stephen) was great!! These two and the shrimp will have me come back.

We have been to more 5 star and 4 star restaurants and resorts in Mexico than we can count. I can truly say that the food at La Luna is every bit as good and in some cases better than at those restaurants. The servers are also very friendly and quick.

We were super excited about La Luna opening. I think the restaurant has potential but there is a lot of improvement to be done. When we went it was around 3:30- 4:00pm, in turn it was a light crowd. When we first walked in we were not greeted by staff. After waiting almost 15 minutes at the counter we had to stop an employee to be seated. Note we were the only ones in line at the moment. Once we were seated it took over 25 minutes for a waiter to come to our table. Before we sat down we had to clean the table and chairs ourselves because there was still food left on those surfaces after the employees had cleaned the table. Once the first waiter came to the table we ordered guacamole but our waiter still had not taken our drink orders. After waiting 20 minutes for our waiter to come back we were informed by another employee that our waiter was too “stressed” and that they were trying to find another sever for our table since he was no longer able to take tables. After about 40 minutes the guacamole was brought to our table but we had to ask over 3 times for chips to eat with it after it was delivered…then our drink order and our food order still had not been taken. Finally, a different server came to our table. At this time our food and drink order was finally taken. At this point we we almost there an hour and just getting our drinks (once again a low traffic time.) When the food was brought out it was another disappointment. Food was bland and not flavorful. I feel like the beans and corn were canned and served without seasoning. Additionally, the meat did not taste seasoned. We even found a small piece of shredded plastic in one of the burrito bowls that was ordered. We were highly disappointed with our experience. Note we were very kind and did not get upset with any staff regarding our experience. I think it will be a good place to hang out to drink once they are more organized but in regards to their food/service a lot of improvement need to be made. Additionally, for what you are paying I would rather go to chipotle or one of the other other Mexican restaurants in town to have an enjoyable and flavorful meal for the same value.

This place is awesome. I had some Margaritas, and the food OMG I was stuffed after it was done. I highly recommend going whether it’s after work or hanging out with friends. La Luna is the place to be!
