This is the 2.0 version. When your hear that you think same stuff different name. Not in this case, you seat yourself, order at the counter but they do bring the food to your table. Now about the food true Hispanic fare and absolutely yummy if you want a place to take someone you want to sit and have a conversation without the constant interruptions or just chill and have a great meal this is you spot.

Excellent food, beautifully spiced. Had the tamale Michaocana. Tamale dough was rich, filling excellent. They make their own tortillas, so nice. It’s so great not to have the peel and eat packaged kind. 4 sauces at the counter, all gorgeous.

Delicious authentic gorditas. Highly recommend. The margarita was good and strong, with a fat slice of lime, and happily not the electric green color you get at some restaurants. Very nice staff. Please try this place out–we need a good Mexican restaurant on the north end of town!

The Torta Michoacana was heavy on the chorizo but light on the steak, smoked sausage, and jalapeños, and despite the menu saying they have Coke products, they have only Pepsi. But the food was good, although nothing fancy.

Like Chinese places, there’s so many Mexican places that have almost an eerie similarity. Pick one and you almost know what to expect, right down to the placemats. La Michoacana is different. The name, when translated to english, means “La Michoacana” (an entertaining insight care of Google translate ).
