Some of the very best Italian food we have had in a long time and one of our favorite meals in Vail! Just a friendly heads up, make sure you book well in advance! Like significantly down the road… Our table was right next to the balcony/window and had an incredible view at night. The pasta was amazing, the appetizers were delicious, the drinks were great, and the chocolate mousse dessert was on a whole new level. My gf still talks about it to this day. We I’ll visit this place every time we go to Vail! Nothing in Vail is cheap but the flavor of this place is well worth it. One of our new favorite places.

This place fills up way in advance with reservations, and understandably so. Our service was excellent and dishes were extremely fresh and fantastic. The Zucchini Verdi e Gialle was unlike anything I’ve ever tasted and was a vegetarian’s delight. The Rigatoni alla Caprese was super fresh tasting and delicious as well. La Nonna has a modern vibe and is beautifully decorated. The tables are close together, probably so as many people as possible can enjoy this lovely place with delightful dishes. We were seated in the upstairs room which had a very upbeat atmosphere. A perfect Valentine’s Day dinner date.

I had a good meal at La Nonna overall. I ordered a delicious gnocchi alla bolognese, which came in a tasty meat sauce. I really enjoyed the meal, but the portion size was quite small and I was still hungry. As a result, I ordered an additional rucola e carciofi salad, which also tasted good. The problem is that the gnocchi cost $33 and the salad cost $16, which is really expensive considering how small the portions are. Besides that, the meal was delicious. I also enjoyed some great conversation from the bar tenders and the service was excellent. This is definitely a well-run, high-end restaurant that I would recommend if money isn’t an issue.

Excellent service! Great food. We sat at the bar and the bartenders were amazing. Jayden was so friendly, along with the other bartender, and accommodating to our last-minute birthday celebration needs. He even gave me a taste of their espresso martini on the house…talk about what real service is. Our pastas were very yummy, and drinks were well-crafted. We love La Nonna!

Just upstairs on Meadow Drive in Vail is this amazing gem of a restaurant. We wandered in last minute and sat at the bar and enjoyed a wonderful dinner along with exceptional service. The food had so many layers of flavor in everything we ordered. I highly recommend making a reservation as the Summer in Vail begins. I love this restaurant and will be back soon because there’s so much more I want to order on the menu….and next time save room for dessert

Great service by Alex, we arrived just before the restaurant got full and the hostess gave us an amazing table next to the balcony and the views were incredible. Octopus appetizer was delicious but the portion was quite small, compare to the calamari or burrata plate. Pasta in vodka sauce and prosciutto was very tasty, we all enjoyed it. House cocktails were on point.

There’s nothing more to ask for – great food, great service, great location. The ambiance is fairly causal – jeans and a flannel work – while the food borders on fine dining. My wife and I shared two smaller antipastis and ordered our own pastas. A perfect amount after a long day of burning calories. The only bummer…. you have to call for reservations. Make sure to call well in advance. Things book quickly.

Got in on a Saturday night for 2 people on a walk in so give it a try of you don’t have a reservation. Got the burrata ai pesto, Bolognese gnocchi (amazing gnocchi but thought the sauce could be a little thicker), funghi ravioli (our favorite pasta of the 2- delicious truffle sauce balances the delicate ravioli). Great romantic/date ambiance. The entrees are appropriately priced but the appetizers and alcohol can get pricey. Highly recommended!

I don’t review restaurants much but some are worthy of it. Hands down the best authentic Italian in Vail. La Nonna is my go to place and I have never had a bad meal here. I enjoy sitting at the bar and the energy around it – the bartenders are great and know how to make what you want. Great staff that makes you feel like family. The food is spot on in portion size and taste. I usually get the Veal special thats in my picture, but love the pastas too. The pork chop is also excellent. I have taken many of my friends and family here and it never disappoints and when they come back to town its always the first place they want to go. Great wine list too and with solid by the glass options including a Barolo. Can be hard to get a reservation sometimes, but they always seem to find a way…highly recommend.
