I’ve learned to temper my expectations when dining on Mexican food outside of Texas. And while La Pugua isn’t the worst I’ve had, it’s also not worth a repeat visit. Salsa was extremely bland. Basically tomatoes and onions, maybe garlic. No cilantro and definitely no type of peppers or spice of any kind. My cheese enchiladas were acceptable, but the beans were generic. More than likely from a can. And if they weren’t from a can, then they need to reevaluate their recipe. Rice….again…average at best.

I had the fajita enchiladas and they seemed undercooked and we’re just not very good at all. Not even the chips and salsa were very tasteful.

Picked up 2 to go fajitas- they had a tortilla in each box with guacamole already spread on it and it looked like someone bit off of it- called the restaurant and a server told me that was odd Bc the tortillas are supposed to be wrapped in foil. I waited an hour for this order and saw the servers snacking by the bar so I’m wondering if they are just snacking on ppl’s entrees. Tried speaking to the manager to see what happened and she ignored my calls. The place just screams disgusting, unsanitary and it’s horrible customer service for mediocre food. Don’t eat here

Food was great. Our Server(Frances) was super sweet with answering our questions and she was also very attentive. We had a great first visit.

Great food and their Menudo is second to none in this area. Chips and Salsa are very good as well. Price is a little high in my opinion but all in all if you have a little extra money and want great Menudo, then this is your place to go. Aside from the Menudo, the tacos are very good as well.

During our visit on Mothers Day the service was terrible and the food was warm at best. We brought this to the attention of the waiter and he made the excuse that the kitchen was busy. I don’t think that the food coming out warm is a kitchen problem I think it was a waitstaff problem if they wouldn’t spend so much time congregating at the end of the bar talking maybe the food would come out hot.

Shrimp Fajita chimichanga, sexy senorita margarita. Drink was decent but not great, shrimp were extremely tough and rice overcooked and mushy. I was extremely disappointed, barely ate half of it.

Food was Great and authentic. The wait time for food was long but worth it. The portions were very big! My party of 3 did the meal deal for 2 and we still had food left over. Very reasonable prices and staff was fast. The roasted whole onions were amazing

Stop to try this place for breakfast on our way home to Texas. Loved the barbacoa tacos and pork and cheese pupusas. Would definitely stop again whenever back that way. Highly recommend
