While living in Glendale, 16-year old Armando and his siblings were hard workers and always had a passion for their moms’ food. The family enjoyed getting together for BBQ’s to eat and to practice their skills on the grill. In July of 2009, on Father’s Day, Armando and his family opened up the first La Palma off of Pearblossom Hwy. in Palmdale CA. Customers were delighted and neighbors impressed.

The food was so good, plus the salsa and chips were very delicious.. But the waitress needs to have customer service. Not too friendly, seem like I was bugging when I would ask her for something.

Guacamole was not fresh… it’s packaged a la Sabra. I ordered veggie fajitas and you can tell they were from a frozen veggie bag. The giveaway is crinkled carrots. Tortillas were processed… As in Mission tortillas from a plastic bag. It wouldn’t surprise me if beans were canned.

We drove by and decided to give it a try. We were served chips and salsa while we waited. It was really good. The draft beers are delicious. The service could be better. It wasn’t terrible. The waitress took our order and we never saw her til the end.She came to ask if we need a refill.. We had to ask the the girl in the front for our bill. Then no one ever came by to check us out. We had to ask the employee walking by if we pay in the front or they take the payment. The actual entrees are ok. When we left we said we would come back for chips, salsa and the beer. We didn’t leave thinking this a place where we would like to come back to eat.

Staff was very very friendly and accommodating with all of us. Our waitress had a big smile the whole time. The food and drinks were very tasty and the proportions were sizable. We had really tasty chicken enchiladas in red sauce, steak quesadilla, carne asada plate and Mojarra frita. We also had cocktails : adios, cucumber margarita and blue hawaiian. We all liked the ambiance and cleanliness of the place. We definitely want to go back and try other dishes.

This was my favorite Mexican food place in Palmdale up until last week. I ordered two bean and cheese burritos with red sauce and received 2 different burritos. One had an orangey ranchera sauce and the other had a dark red spicy sauce. They were different from the other times I ordered. Also, I ordered tacos al pastor and received carne asada tacos and the carne asada was no Bueno. My wife called and complained. She was told there was a new cook and that someone would call her back about a refund. Never heard a word back. I’m sad to see this place go…

Enjoyed my whole cooked fish in a nicely spicy sauce with beans and rice. Chips warm and salsa smoky flavor. Wait staff attentive.

Big spacious place, decoration is up to place, food is good but margaritas are better, they are a little pricey but they are worth it. The advantage of this restaurant is that if you are a local, this place is in the heart of the town, well lighted for us girls, this place is good for girl’s night out or family time during the day or weekends.
